I don't know if this can be fixed, but I will try.

My laptop crashed on me last Friday. It is dead, caput, dust in the wind. With it went my old email address that I used for this forum; the problem is, I don't remember my password for this forum, and when I request a password reset the email goes to the dead address.

My nerves are fried after the long weekend, so I'm sure the answer is obvious, but could someone please help me understand what to do, and if any of this is at all salvageable? Thanks.

I answered a similar post yesterday! You'll need to contact EA Account Support, explain the problem and they should be able to help you sort things out. Links for the various EA Help sites can be found at the bottom of this site.

I didn;t see this before I posted my topic just now, but why is the email to reset the passwords sending people to a dead link? Would that not be something Bioware would fix?

I have a full time job, I have to cook and clean and generally run a household, and when I pay for a game I don't want to have spend half of my precious free time fiddling with things like this. Would it be simpler to change the link so that the paying customers could access their accounts?

EDIT:  I forgot to add that I can't go to EA Suppport for help because -- wait for it, folks - you can't email them if you don't have a valid password.

Here, try calling them. That's what I'm doing right now: the number.

Hopefully it won't take long.

Press "0" to skip all the mombo-jumbo to get a live person. Their hours are from 7 AM to 9 PM.
