 On my last playthrough of ME2, after the crew was taken, I did the Legion loyalty mission and then went straight too the Collector base and yet some of the crew still died.
On my previous playthroughs though they all survived and I'm sure I did the Legion Loyalty mission at the same point because before the crew was taken, I couldn't get the mission, did I do something wrong that cause some of the crew to die like fuel up or something?

Before I do the SM I always talk to everyone about the ship upgrades, not too proud to admit that on more than one occasion I remembered wrong and forgot to get a particular upgrade.

If you do a mission(s) after the crew are abducted, then there is an increasing chance of your crew being killed. Need to do Legion's mission before the crew are taken.

I tried to do that, but the conversation after I get him won't let me do it so I had to do something to get to the point where he'd tell me about the mission.

I always do the all mission and loyalty mission first. Don't do the IFF mission till you have everything done before that then go and do that and you will get Legion and you should be able to do one last mission witch is always Legion's loyalty one for me. Do that and then you will come back on the ship and the crew will taking then and then you can go get your crew back and they should still all be alive.

How do you both complete Legion's loyalty mission AND save everyone on the ship? This is what confuses me-- because if you finish the Reaper IFF mission, the very next time you click on the Galaxy Map it just takes you to the part where everyone gets captured.

At which point you have to choose whether you want to make Legion loyal or sacrifice half your crew to the collectors. If you do Legion's loyalty mission it'll kill everyone on-board. This is what screwed me over in my first playthrough.

After the IFF mission, don't even go near the galaxy map. Head right to legion and activate him and get his mission.

sorry forgot to but that part in...lol just do what Ryanratto said should work...if not then your still doing something wrong
