I pre-ordered  the signature edition of DA2, registered it within a couple of days of recieving the game (which was obviously months ago now) and I am still unable to activate my online profile. This means I cant sync my achievements, characters, e.t.c. I have all the options ticked within game to allow this, but when I try to click the 'activate online profile' link on the bioware social network site it won't allow it, it just leaves a blank space underneath the link. 

Is this a common problem and how can it be fixed? Help would be much appreciated.

Does the game show up in the My Games menu?
Does your dragon age origins profile show up?

Also I think there is a forum for these type of issues, as I think this is more a website issues then actual issue with the game.

If I recall all I needed to do was to register the game using the UPC code from the game box.
And there was an activate if I recall.

However I kinda recall it was not right away, but I could be mistaken, ( I did it on or near release date so the way I did it has faded)

Have you been able to download all the add ons into the game? If so my guess is that the game is at least registered on the site correctly.

And if not mistaken the "* Dragon Age II - PS3" above becomes a hyper link once it activates.

Yea it shows up in the my games menu and my origins profiles for both pc and PS3 have both been completely fine, with trophies and characters being uploaded. It's just my DA2 profile which I can't activate. I registered it months ago with the UPC, but as I say it won't let me activate my online profile for some reason.
As for the DLC, it all works in game but I've just checked my registered content on the bioware site, and so far my legacy DLC and extra item pack DLC don't appear on this list, but then neither did my DLC for origins on the PS3, such as witch hunt, so I'm not too worried about that part.

...When I click on the (activate online profiles) hyperlink, the space below remains blank, it does not show "*Dragon Age II - PS3" underneath the player profiles heading.

On a whim, I just tried right clicking the link to 'activate online profile', copied the link address, opened a new window and pasted the address fresh into the http bar and tried to load it up that way. For some strange reason it seems my online profile is now existent and working. It shows my characters and trophies even though it still doesn't show all my DLC on the registered content list. Thanks very much for posting ecto69 and for trying to help out I'm glad my profile is now showing up after all these months!

Glad it is working. Seems like it might have been a browser issue? I think I used Firefox 3.x what ever was the current one in March.
