Not hate. Hate's too strong of a word. I don't think I'm more intelligent than the people that like anime, but I'm just want to know if there's anybody else who doesn't like anime.
Why do I dislike anime? I always found it melodramatic. That, and I can't stand the filler. I don't like it when fights last for more than one episode. Plus, some of the hardcore fans that act like anime is a gift from God kind of scare me.

Quite the opposite, I love it.
But then again, there's all kinds of anime(different genres and the like) and like TV shows they are not all the same.
It's one thing to hate the general japanese art style(and that's fair enough, I know a few people who don't like it) but the plot, characters, themese and genre are greatly varied. The Mainstream shows like DBZ, Naruto, Pokemon etc. don't represent all of the anime medium in any way.
In fact if you want something that's not cliched at all, I do recommend Ergo Proxy,it's really not what you'd expect from an anime.

I don't like anime... But I don't dislike it either. I think I was around... what, about 12 years old when I got past the phase where I thought others aren't allowed to like things I don't like.

Yes, let's judge a blanket term based on less than 0,01% of the works comprising it.

I only dislike some of it. Other than that, I like it.

I find that anime takes itself far too seriously for how silly and nonsensical it is.
There are some humorous Mangas I have enjoyed like Gon but overwhelmingly yes I hate anime.

Have you heard of Fooly Cooly?
Also I like to mention Ranma ½, Fruits baskets, Akazukin Cha Cha, Hayate no GotokuHayate no Gotoku and Lucky Star.
Also what's wrong with a serious anime? Inuyasha, Ergo Proxy, Ghost in the Shell and Death Note are pretty awesome.

Gurren Lagann. It knows it's silly. And it wants you to know.

Despite having lived in Japan, I could never get into anime, manga or Jpop. Nothing against anyone who likes it, and I'm sure there are probably some great anime feature films, but personally I haven't seen any anime shows or movies that I can bear to watch.
I do, however, like the show Avatar: the Last Airbender, which seems to be influenced by anime.

I love anime, but I really cannot stand the more mainstream shows like Naruto & Bleach.
Ghost in the Shell is a great anime both in film and tv series.
But if someone tells me they don't like anime, I usually sit them down and make them watch a Hayao Miyazaki film like Princess Mononoke or Spirited Away, it usually changes peoples opinion on anime

Anime is just animation. It is not a narrow genre of works that all share homogenous narrative and artistic qualities.
When people say they hate anime, they generally mean they have seen a sampling of only the most visible of endless shounen tripe that coasts on its name recognition and established fanbase in order to rake in money (read: Naruto, Bleach). These series are not indicative of the overall quality of an entire country's body of creative works any more than, say, the Transformers movies are indicative of the quality of all American movies ever made. Yes, the most popular anime cater to the lowest common denominator and generally have no purpose or value other than to continue existing and generating money, but that is true of pretty much any medium of entertainment in any culture.
There are plenty of anime and manga that have as much integrity and artistic value as any of the better media out of the western world. Just like anything else, most of it is garbage, but the Japanese are not some sort of cultural anomaly only capable of creating awful art. You just have to, you know, look for it (hint: seinen, goyz).

Judging all anime by its most popular works is like judging all video games based on Call of Duty and World of Warcraft.

I like a few series. Cowboy Bebop and Death Note come to mind. But other shows that I have seen over Netflix and other mediums just seems like blatant fanservice to me. Girls with big ******, perverted humor, mechs, ninja/elemental powers, gunslingers, or in some cases, combinations of all of that.
Maybe I'm just watching the wrong series, but I have typically not enjoyed what I have seen so far.

I don't know what series you've been watching, but clearly you've been watching the wrong shows.

Japanese pop art style is... I don't think I can find a word to describe how much I dislike it.
So I've never watched anime or read manga. I wouldn't be able to see anything for all the cringing.

Depends on the style, by and large I love it. But there are some styles I just loath...Mainly Samurai Champloo and FLCL I just hate. Love Macross and Patlabor, stuff like that though.

I dislike whole rafts of it because the stories don't speak to me, lose something in translation, or I just don't like the content (yeah, I'm a woman, so I have problems with women being used as sexual punching bags for the "entertainment" of teenage boys and/or men, so I have issues with a lot of what I've been exposed to over the years). Or it's stuff like Dragonball Z, which I do not understand at all (I mean, who wants to watch one fight between two guys go on for half a dozen episodes - explain that to me, please).
But, having a teenage boy in the house means I've been exposed to Black Lagoon - which I really quite liked, Cowboy Bebop which was a really good shot at solid, smart sci-fi, and I absolutely loved Lucky Star... because it's the most wonderful, non-patronising look backwards at being a teenage girl, without being leaden with angst about boys.
The rest, you can keep.
