Definitely watch After Story. It is just as good as its predecessor although it deals with the characters' tribulations as adults after they've graduated from school.

Don't forget a box of tissues.

Oh god, I only watched up to Ep 4 and already this show got to me, Mei's concern for her brother and that end scene with that fight:(

The Secret World of Arrietty is the only new anime I am looking foward to. Any series after Ghost in The Shell: S.A.C. haven't really interested me unfortunately.

What have you watched thus far? (you've seen other Studio Ghibli too I gather?)

What were the show you didn't like?

Ooh... ok - didn't notice the title, and spend 2-3 seconds watching it - it amazes me how I dislike the idea of a dub.

Though I'm still hating it - in a good way. This funny stuff usually doesn't get me, though it's interesting nontheless. Not laugh-out-lound funny - but rather "funny, this is... o.O"

Dunno. I never had problems with dubs.
I know some people view em as "BETRAYL!!!!" and not wathing it in japanese is not being a "true" aniem fan..or whatevs

A lot of the anime I watch is dubbed (or has dual audio). And a lot of that which is dubbed is dubbed in italian (not english). Neither are my native language.
Probably cause I used to pick-up italian channels on TV as a kid, so a lot of the older animes  I watched I watched on italian. They do a good job of dubbing and finding proper voices. In some cases I consider them superior to the original.

NO. I've tried it. NO f*cking way. If I rent a foreign film, why would I ever want to experience it in a non-native language?

The thing is foreign films always have bad dubs(save for Japanese dubs for some reason) and dubbing live action is always a bad idea(again save for Japanese dubs) but cartoons? not hard to dub at all if you know what you are doing.

As for why you would want to watch something in a non-native language? well Bebop's dub had Steven Blum as the main character.=]

Just finished FMA: Brotherhood for the first time. Thought before I watched it that it would be on the same dumb quality level as Bleach and Naruto but was very pleasantly surprised with it all the way through the series and the ending was very satisfying too. Awesome work.

Lol, rewatched all the episodes yesterday and cried even more than last time.

6, 8, 9, 12, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20, 21 & 22 all had me stripped further and further of dudebro status :crying:

Oh lord....<_<

Don't tell me you're one of those weeboo elitists...

Dubs can be great. Depends on who's doign the dubbing.
I watched some shows in both original and dubbed, and found that the dubbed voiced fit the characters better than the originals.
Of course, that's not often the case.

I've watched exactly one series in a dub - that was Haruhi. I actually quite loved it (I know some of you will argue that it's dumb weeaboo or otaku series, but well... you're not quite right).

The reason why I tried a dub was that this was my second anime ever, and I watched it on youtube, twas the only version there.
Or was Haruhi actually my first? can't remember...( the other being NGE).
Since then all the dubs I've tried have been godawful to listen upon.

I tried the second season of Suzumiya-chan in Japanese, and it was boring. Maybe it's the episodes, but I doubt it. The voice-actress for the American version had more hyperrealistically positive life to her.
