Some of the best anime/manga I've ever seen/read has been Ghost in the Shell, Pokemon, DearS, FMA, Judas, Alichino, Descendants of Darkness, Trigun, Hellsing, and way too many for me to post on here.
Rest assured though that most of the ones I like happen to be ones that I'm sure other people will post about on here.

Yes, let's judge a blanket term based on less than 0,01% of the works comprising it.
And this is especially true for anime - there's so many genres and brilliant-quality obscure stuff there that everyone could enjoy if able to pass a bit of cultural threshold regarding "quirks" in style and mannerisms... Japanese *do* think somewhat differently, but from what I've understood their peculiarities are totally awesome and most who find anime at least "dubious" do so based on misconception...

But you do understand that some non-Asian franchises, especially in games, are established with style that does not make for a good and believable anime re-imagining?

Though I did liked Naruto, but majority of original show is filler while Shippuden was too much about finding that emo Sasuke.
Also, did anyone seen Animatrix?
It's a short movie anime that is prologue to Matrix.
It explains how machines took over humanity.
It's awesome!

I will not watch anything anime. I'm very picky.
I tend to say away from children's anime. I can generally tell if anime is bad by the art style.
When production values are high the anime tends to be of considerably quality with a decent plot. Just a rule of thumb.

Uh...He's the main motivation for the title character's adventures, what else is Shippuden going to be about? Then again, as of right now, Sasuke is rather irrelevant. It's a nice change of pace when characters have something else to focus on. I guess war does that to you though, puts your priorities in order.Mesina2 wrote...

Anime is flashy and ridiculous? Surely you can't be...which are NOT loud, flashy and ridiculous like 99% of the rest

Nevermind.
