I assume yes. Either auto-kill or you get grabbed and have a few seconds time to get free by some means (shoot the pilot or let yourself help by mates), like the Ogre-Grap in Dragon Age.

The "freeing yourself" aspect I can see being handled like when the tenticles in Dead Space grab you and you have to shoot them off you.  Which thinking about it, might not be a far stretch seeing as how both games have EAs logo on them.

Just wondering Brenon. Have you guys considered the negative effect that disabling control of the protagonist to the player tends to have and remedied it somehow?
