Which is going to make combat for Vanguards interesting.  In ME2 I always rammed headlong (literally) into the YMIR mechs with a fully charged GPS blast, followed by more shots and some elbows of doom thrown in.

BTW, if this new vid was an Engineer, where is his Drone and Turret? They could have distracted that Atlas.

Speaking of Vanguards, do we know what Vanguards will be using in melee?  Engineers have the tech flame or what not, Sentinels have the double blade, I think, and Soldiers have the blade as well? And Adepts have some sort of Biotic punch.  So what will Vanguards have?

Well, there's currently a pretty fun (and challenging) maneuver you can do... which is to charge the Atlas, bait the first melee swing and evade out of the way while shooting... then charge back in, evade the followup ground slam, fire another shot and charge back in. It's pretty hard to do... but extremely satisfying. :happy:

If it can pick Shepard up I hope it's a one hit kill you can't escape from.

I also hope the driver flips Shepard the bird before finishing him off.. Because you would, wouldn't you?

Leave it to us, Brenon. Give us a couple months and I'm sure come summer next year we'll have found a way to melee Atlases to death or some other exploit(s) to ruin all your work making this game hard. Posted Image

That's the case currently... basically if you're sticking around for the full length of the melee chain (that's one big swing and a follow up ground smash) the third action is him picking you up and killing you... with a really nice animated camera.

It's a bit of an experiment... so far it hasn't been too frustrating... and it makes the Atlas feel pretty threatening.

Stefano, the animator that did all the actions for the Atlas was joking about having the sync move pull Shepard up to the cockpit so he could make rude gestures... :lol:

We had also joked about changing the move so the Atlas would lift Shepard up to the cockpit, then the cockpit would open and the driver would punch Shepard in the face...

That's usually what happens a month tops after I get my hands on a game lol.  Even Ninja Gaiden II on master only provided a "minimal" amount of challenge after the first time through Posted Image
