hi guys, i installed mass effect 2 recently. when i start, after they attack the Normandy and captain sheperd is recovered and revived the game just crashes !!!
can anyone help ????
i have windows 7 x64 ATI Radeon 5 series 1 GB memory and 4 Gb of RAM .
it runs smoothly when i go to save Joker but after that video it crashes !!!!
plz help. game crash !!!

ive run it in administrator and still same effect. i made all the visual settings to low and still.
in the prologue when i go back for JOKER it runs fine and smooth but after the normandy blowas up and captain sheperd is recovered and revived, it take me to a loadind screen where it shows the heart signal and medical stuff then it just crashes !!!

Have you tried reinstalling?
What type of sound system does your comp have and drivers? example realtek.
info is king in the diagonsitics of comps.

11.7 ATI DRIVER
The Game Crashed On all versions, 1.00, 1.01 and 1.02.
i reinstalled many times. i have a physical disk .

I'm going to take a guess that this Radeon 5650 is a notebook mobility radeon model? i've got a sneaky feeling the hardware may be causing the problem since everything looks fine from a driver point of view.

yeah i have a HP Pavilion dv6.
when i start a new game it runs fine and captain shepperd goes to rescue Joker the graphics are amazing and its all working fine. but after the normandy is destroyed and the captain is blown into space and recovered. after the surgery cutscenes thereis a loading screen, at that loadind screen the game just crashes !!!!!
i tried admistrator mode, i tried Xp compatibily and all the patches ans still same crash !!!

A crash at a specific point is usually either a file corruption or program interference.
DirectX9.0c installed/reinstalled?
Start disabling background programs, or try in safemode to see if you can play it past that point.
What temps are you running on your machine, speedfan may be a good idea to see if you are maybe cooking it since it is a laptop and therefore not really designed for gaming.
What graphics level are you using? Resolution and detail level?
Are you forcing AA or anything non-standard in the Catalyst menu? If so disable back to stock running.
Are you overclocking anything, if so put back to stock.
Set affinity of your game to a single core, multi-core processors can cause issues with ME2.
Good luck.
