you can. just chose "I would catch you" instead of "I would embrace you" and I think there are couple of other options that you can chose that are of a less flirty king, later on in conversations - and she'll feed your fish without offering to come up and dance for you.
I tried that and it didn't work.
To be frank we have tanks that auto-feed now, why can't shepard get one aboard the most advanced ship in the galaxy.
Yeah, that IS really stupid. Really really really stupid. It annoyed me no end the first time I played.
But jeweledleah is right--you can do that, and it works. Be nice, but whenever you get the chance to be overtly flirty with her, just choose the neutral option.

lol. no I just think it's stupid of
straight gamers to call for a toggle just to turn off homosexual
content. None of them asks for a toggle to switch off homosexual "or"
heterosexual content. As if they think that they have the right to claim
something like this "against homosexuality", because they're the
majority.
As a straight gamer, I think that's stupid of them. It's so unnecessary--if you don't want to flirt with somebody, don't choose the <3 icon, plain and simple!
But some of us, apparently, are just so damned
prissy that when they see that heart icon, or that "you look hot" paraphrase pop up, their naughty bits shrivel like tomatoes in the sun, and they start to get the vapors because their Mass Effect experience is *ruined* , just *ruined* by the possibility of making a choice that is not heterosexual (gasp)!
*facepalm* Okay, can I please just apologize for my orientation now? Because some of us are
so freaking lame. elektrego wrote...
How to best implement same-sex romance in ME3?
In abundance!
You should've heard my evil laughter upon reading that.
Nice.

If there's ever a dialogue option that says
""Break my ****" I'm picking it. Without hesitation and the consequences
be damned. Even if that means getting bottomed by Garrus and Grunt
simultaneously.
...you... are... brave.

I would like to second, third, fourth, and ten millionth this.
Die, ninjamances, die!!!!! The one thing that should be absolutely clear is
whether or not you are about to flirt with somebody. Then it's hard for anybody
reasonable to complain about S/S romances, and the majority of players can just make informed choices about their characters without any agonizing over whether this option will lead to unwanted boning.
I just wouldn't want to end up tackling Anderson and pulling his Alliance blues off because I chose the option that said "Interesting." I love him, but he's like my dad!
For the rest of it, I
like having some extra choices. I don't need to only make Shepards who resemble me in real life, whether by appearance, coloring, gender, or sexual preference. Being able to make a gay or bi Shepard adds to diversity=adds to roleplaying=adds to
fun.
