The game isn't even out yet, how can you be so sure the series has changed for the worse? So what if they changed a few things, maybe you will come to like them when you ACTUALLY play the game.

Anyone else feeling disappointed and pessimistic from what they are seeing of humanity, with butthurt, backwards people whining like little babies about everything despite there being no indication of their complaints having any kind of basis?

Agreed I'm cancelling my preorder right now.  Humanity doesn't deserve my money now!

Disappointed?

Hell no.

Craving some footage outside of combat and missions?

You bet your arse.

Same here, we've seen the combat already and it looks good. Show us something else!

Not at all, I'm looking forward to seeing the Mass Effect story come to it's climactic ending.

There is one little detail about ME 3 that people keep forgetting, The Reapers are finally here. That alone is enough to get me excited.

Yeppers. I want to see whats going on in the colonies in the path of the Reaper menace. I want to see the Citadel and see the politicians arguing over whats to be done. I want to see to see the workings of the Mass Effect universe as it gets systematically crushed by the Reapers. Not just a close up of Shep fighting Cerberus (Which, don't get me wrong, looks totally awesome).

I usually find it hard to judge things until I get to lay my hands on it or have read a hands-on preview article. Until then you get a lot of marketing gibberish and image polish. So I'll reserve my feelings and stay mildly optimistic.

No, I'm really excited. I think the team are working incredibly hard and with passion to ensure that ME3 will be a fitting end to the trilogy.

The only main thing that is rather disappointing is the lack of new information. I mean I know the game isn't coming out for a while but still it's nice to hear about stuff to keep me interested/occupied until then.

I sort of feel the same way TC, though probably not to the same extent. But then again, I feel the same about other games like Skyrim. It should be noted that I'm a bit of an eccentric guy when it comes to taste in games and my other hobbies, perhaps in general.
I'm not really sure what I'm going to do now, I think I won't like the game as much as I would like but we're so close to finishing a trilogy, why should I quit now?

If there is one thing that BioWare and EA were never good, at it is marketing and this is what we are seeing

Remember the awful "Fight For The Lost" trailers

I must be in the minority when I say they're not bad.

Nope. Just look at the comments on youtube. People loved the ME2 trailers.

Wasn't the Mass Effect 2 launch trailer pretty highly regarded?

I've seen a lot of "EA/BioWare sucks at marketing" comments so I thought I was in the minority.^_^

Only thing I'm disappointed so far is with the Atlas mech design... looks like it's coming from the Lost in Space series from the 60's... besides that I don't think Bioware wants to disappoint hardcore fans because as it seems to me they're part of the fanbase themselves

I'm sure we've all followed other games; this griping during the wait is typical. There are those who like drama and there are those who are disappointed in what they see. They create a rukus whenever possible. The worst are former true believers who feel betrayed. They linger like vengeful spirits for years.

You can tell the large majority of ME fans are pretty happy still. We've seen on other forums what happens when the majority is unhappy and its a lot more lively than this!

Since Phaedon's thread has been locked right when I was about to post:lol:... I am posting my wishes here but I am pretty sure people have been asking for this many times...

... Well, I would really welcome some kind of behind the scenes / developer's diary type of document dedicated more to weapon / armor customization and upgrades, leveling up, (new) powers and other rpg stuff. Maybe one Bioware Pulse episode? I know those things are most likely not ready, but still, little introduction and explanation of ratio behind their current philosophy / approach would be nice... Though the chance that reacions would vary is very high. :/

That way, the official trailers which are dedicated to large audience which involves people with varying tastes and preferences could focus on the things that are relatively attractive to everyone (e.g. action and dramatic scenes) and those who are interested in more hardcore topics like RPG elements would get something to think about too.

But still, I expect something like ME 2 classes' trailers eventually so a lot of the questions should be answered before we will be able to play ME 3 so I am OK with Bioware's marketing so far.

Also, I really like when we are invited for brainstorm sessions. It's a fantastic way of incorporating us into the development process and expressing that our opinions matter not only as a feedback but also as a source of inspiration before the game is finished. That's the way to work with community. Manweer Heir for President!!!:o

They haven't shown us much yet, so I'm holding my breath. I have quite a lot of confidence in BioWare, so I'm almost positive that Mass Effect 3 will deliver. But I'm not 100% sure - there's this nagging feeling in me. BioWare has already disappointed me gravely once (Dragon Age 2), so they might turn on us and do the same, though I hope they learned their lesson.
