Yes, even I think so. From what we're led to believe, darkspawn are a mindless horde. So unless the Archdemon somehow holds them back, or if darkspawn are somehow held back in their search for the Old God till they have sufficient numbers (by means of some inherently programmed nature perhaps), they should logically attack.Rifneno wrote...

Only a dev could truly answer that. But I think they'd just invade with less than usual strength.
Wouldn't It be cool if the next blight was In Orlais?

I doubt they'd start their assault immediately upon finding another Old God. The Archdemon was still in the Deep Roads before ordering the rest of the Darkspawn to march towards the surface, and the fact that they attacked at night during Ostagar shows that the Archdemon gives them actual tactics.
More than likely they'd start raiding villages in small enough numbers to fool people into thinking there was no real threat, and then when they have sufficient numbers they'd assault the surface.
All due to the Archdemon saying "No! You go up there now and you'll be put in a time-out! Ogre, don't you even think about it!!"
Add into that how many broodmothers are out there, of which we don't know how many or which ones, and it might not take them that long to build up their numbers.
hell for all we know Urthemiel told some other Darkspawn to look for the other two Old Gods.

Hm. What accent does everyone have in Ferelden, then? I'm not intimately familiar with English accents per se, but I know it's something British. Of course, London accents are far from the only English ones...
I didn't notice any accent on most of the native Fereldens, so I'd say American or something close to it. The game seems to have multiple versions of the English language files though, so perhaps ones meant for England copies do have an English accent.

Well, I'm an American with an American accent, and I'm pretty damned sure that everyone there had an English one... maybe you got a different copy?Rifneno wrote...

Anyway, RE. the main topic of this thread. I hope Orlais is never explored in-game at all; it's a wasteful-seeming sort of place, and I'd much rather see Tevinter.

I will admit to the possibility of that. But it would be hard to fool Grey Wardens. Aren't the darkspawn or even Archdemon supposed to be able to sense Grey Wardens? So what would the darkspawn horde bank on to be able to hold on their secrecy of the blight? The Ethereal Writer Redux wrote...

Ferelden had English accents. That was pretty obvious.

How about this. The next Blight emerges in Par Vollen. The qunari are now under pressure. The only way to save their home is to ask the "unworthy non-Qun-follower" for help.

To be honest, I wouldn't like Orlais for DA3, I'm just too annoyed with their accent. French is beautiful language, but having English with French accent is just too damn annoying, and after Comtesse de Launcet, I find it abominable. Well you realize that Orlais is a big place right and that not everyone will speak with that deep accent. They have conquered a lot of the land they rule over, so there are probably a lot of people in Orlais who are not actually Orlesian. There is also the possibility that the accent isn't universal, like in America, there are 50 different accents, you can tell a person from NYC and a person from Boston apart quite easily and these places are only a few hours apart. I would think the ones with the deep accents are probably mostly in Val Royeaux.

From what the Architect and The Mother said, the Darkspawn respond to the 'singing' of the slumbering Old Gods. I would assume because there are time gaps between an Arch Demon's defeat and another's rising, that the Darkspawn are searching for the next Old God, since the Arch Demons don't seem to be all sealed in one place.
And I agree with the Broodmother thing. There's no telling how many of those... things live in the Deep Roads or how many Darkspawn one can produce in any given amount of time. A Blight is fairly likely, considering the Fifth Blight never got into full swing when it started in Ferelden, most of the Darkspawn forces likely retreated back into the Deep Roads.

Although I don't believe we'll ever really be seeing Blights again, I think there are still enough darkspawn that they don't need any downtime if they were to discover another Old God.
I hate to say, but me too. But I can watch something like Ratatouille (French people are coming to my house to murder me, right now) without having bad thoughts, so I bet it's something that wouldn't end up being a real problem. I hope.Nimrodell wrote...

I just want to know why, other than some writer wanting so badly to appear "authentic" when writing for On the Loose, that Kirkwall doesn't have a freaking "vicomte".
David has commented about this in the ancient past. I think he says they standardize on US English (it's geared for the American market), although it's tough for them to kick back with the 'u's sometimes. I think the last time he was complaining about "judgment" or something.Rifneno wrote...
Or do you mean the way that they spell and such? "Grey Wardens" instead of "Gray Wardens" for instance. Bioware is a Canadian company, and Canada usually spells in UK English rather than American English. Come to think of it, they measure distance in miles in Thedas even though Canada is on the metric system rather than the imperial system or that bastardized metric/imperial hybrid the UK has. And they spell it "armor" not "armour"... ... Now I'm confused.
Pish, like any educated person would put an 'e' after the 'g'. :-)
