This modifier is on Avernus' Robe and the Blood Ring. Has anyone figured out exactly what it affects?
What does "Improves Blood Magic" do?

It improves your blood magic sklls if you have that specialization on one of your mages. I still need to unlock this one myself.

... I think he was asking - improves in what way?
I would also like to know.

Statwise, I can not say for sure. But after equipping I did find my Blood Wound to be better.

I'm not sure exactly what it does, but I would guess there are a few possibilities:
1. Reduction of health cost per spell
2. Increased Spellpower (so basically increased damage and higher resist checks) for Blood Magic
3. Longer lasting effects for Blood Magic
I would check for those possibilities first as they seem the most likely. I don't play a Blood Mage, but I'm still interested to know about how that modifier specifically affects Blood Magic spells. I know some people like the ambiguity that BioWare used for Dragon Age, but I would prefer something more concrete, or at least a little more specific.

It made the spells cheaper to cast in terms of health lost... which is interesting, as blood magic is already cheaper to cast than normal spells.

Wiki says -25% to spell cost when Blood Magic mode is active, and that, unfortunately, multiple items with this effect do not stack (e.g. Robes of Avernus + Blood Ring).

When equiped and Blood Magic is active spells only cost 60% of their casting cost.

It's not really worth it if you have something else better. If you have Awakening, there are tons of stuff that are better... like that +100% Spirit Damage ring.
