I question the sanity of any soldier who takes a sword into battle in place of a gun.

Of course, it has been done before, but I question that guy's sanity too.

While the idea is certainly ambitious I agree it would be nice to create a personalised omni-blade.

I play as an Infiltrator and we prefer silent and deadly, not frontal assaults. So I'd most like an omni blade which killed silently with as little flash and sparkle as possible.

But I suspect Bioware will think up a gaudy flash filled animation for my class.

I've got a cold, so I just want things (ME3) to be perfect right now, including my nose.

I disagree. I've made dozens of these kinds of comments without catching any flack.

I feel I should not that I personally find these types of posts both entertaining and driving home valid points, and no where have I ever seen someone say they were a problem on the forum befor this thread.

Depends on the type of gas, but generally, the gasses produced would be mosty CO2 and H2O, with maybe some SO2 thrown in for flavor, so nothing too dangerous, especially since hardsuits can be sealed against vacuum.

I think if your letting enemies get that close to you to bash or stab you then your doing something wrong in first place.

This isn't Star Wars with kung fu samurais in space. It's Mass Effect, with mass effect weapons, and mass effect fields.

They call it "Tech Armour" these days...

Why not an actual Omni-Sword?
I want to be able to combine it with Tech Armour and an Omni-Shield to feel like a real space knight, Sir/Lady Shepard the Unyielding...

And maybe an Omni-Bow or Omni-Crossbow... They'll be useless but will definitely look cool...

Why should we limit it to weapons, the whole game is full of weapons. Most of us are talking about the Omni-Tool and it's possible use this is what keeps people interested. You say "I want an Omni-Bat" you might get one comment then thread dies you say something amusing another use for the 'Tool' then people can talk and have fun debating that for a page. You need to lighten up, seriously.

How about an Omni-Plank for those crewmates you just can't seem to get along with onboard ship. Possible deployment of Omni-Plank ~ the airlock.

The possibilities of weapons and the uses are okay, but Omni-Toilet and Poop are not even.. I don't know.
