I love how some are whining about having a truly democratic election instead of 4 severe-haired brunettes vs. a redhead who doesn't look like one vs.1 blonde with the best hairstyle by far--and refusing to vote because "my previous vote didn't mean anything" even though the face and hairstyle were chosen, which is hugely significant, and because the blonde "was what everybody clearly wanted" even though it's not winning now--that's just self-parody. You know better. Suck it up, vote for what you want, and whatever the outcome is, we must all do as we see in the quotes below:

../../../images/forum/emoticons/cool.png
Yeah, that.
To those who swore
we were the minority and told us to deal with it, have a nice, soothing sip of your own medicine, and no hard feelings--I mean that honestly because I know how it felt to see my favorite lose. I'm not going to be as nasty as some people have been, on both sides mind you, because confirmation of the majority's
actual preference is something I can accept and be happy with.
Hell, that one female journalist (as opposed to other female journalists who merely criticized the decisions in a thoughtful way) who wrote the rather extremist "Bioware, you shouldn't leave a decision like this in the hands of all those stupid males! Of course they're going to pick the bimbo blonde Shepard that all the real FemShep fans would hate!" article is probably blushing pretty damned hard right now, because her insulting anti-male/anti-blonde comments are being proven definitively wrong by the non-blondes pulling clear leads over the other two.
This should be about fan preference, not prejudice of any kind. It's that simple.

Can I vote for all of them?
I voted for the redhead and brunette because I can't decide- they both look amazing.
Same here.

The black hair looks gorgeous, but the fiery quality of the red really pops. Either would make a stellar choice, though if I'm objective, I think the red hair will bring the most attention to FemShep because it's so bright and visible, and it is the classic Jane Shepard color. I voted for my top two favorites on the original contest, too--if they didn't want us to be able to multi-vote then they wouldn't have held these voting rounds on Facebook, I'm sure.

I like the dirty blonde, though, actually. Surprised me, but I honestly do.

I'm happy with black or red, but I
went for black in the end because I think the redhead's going to have

the hero IS the redhead! [smilie]../../../images/forum/emoticons/grin.png[/smilie] Assuming the voting trend doesn't change over the next week, that is.

But.. I -like- blond Shepard. ;/ Dear
Bioware -- just keep default original shepard and let us customize if
you're going to break our hearts by letting people vote a second time. I
didn't vote for her for the hairstyle ;/
I'm sorry, but you seem to be in the minority on that count. *hugs* Don't let that get you down, though--vote for what you want, because you have a right to be heard too. And I could swear I've heard somewhere that it won't be a locked-down preset like Sheploo; I hope I'm right there. That'd be an option everyone could get behind, after all.

I told people on here that it was
because of the hair style that the blonde won in round 1.. And that if
there was a red-headed femshep with the same hair style, she would win.
Everyone attacked me like I was hating on blondes and that I'm a racist
blah blah, but, seems like until now, the 2nd round is proving me
right.. All your accusations are looking stupid now.
I said the same thing and got the same response, so I feel ya, buddy. But now we've got a purely democratic choice going on--of course people are going to complain. Because they're the vocal minority they forcefully said we were.

Not that I disrespect the vocal minority--I want them to have their choice available, too. I just prefer another color to be the default in the trailer and on the box, and I'm clearly not alone, if those 11,600 votes are any indication.
AwesomeName wrote...
I think at this point, they could
make everyone happy by simply including all the presets in the CC,
regardless of who's on the box.
I think it's definitely the most elegant solution. I've always wanted to be able to tinker around with the defaults; it's nice to start with a good base and then make it your own. They should definitely do that--I'd like to see what we can do with edit-able defaults.

But I feel like everything I said
defending blondes is now going in one ear and out the other because all
the stereotype supporters are gonna go, "lalalalala, blondie's not gonna
win".
Well, I can't speak for others, but that's not how I feel. I wanted to feel like we had a fair choice and I wanted the hair to be somewhere within the vicinity of the black eyebrows rather than in complete contrast to them--I'm not anti-blonde at all, and I don't think that even the people who most raged about this are anti-blonde at heart themselves. I think they just felt frustrated, and felt that it sent the wrong message (that blonde is inherently better because it's already the most popular hair color in some.) Personally, I could've still accepted a blonde Shepard depending on her overall look, but there is just something about this particular Shepard--maybe how young she looks, an effect which light blonde hair only increases--that made me deeply dislike that platinum on her. Not so with other colors (including the strawberry you posted.)
But that doesn't mean I don't think *any* blonde Shepard could look good. Hell, I might even make my first blonde Shepard in honor of this second round. Sagequeen has
a particularly stunning and tough blonde as her avatar. Ain't a damned thing wrong with that.

I might just ask for her face code as inspiration.
I think Alexandra Roivas from Eternal Darkness: Sanity's Requiem is still my favorite blonde video game character ever, though. She rocked that hair and not even the abovementioned unreasonable journalist could accuse a strong, smart female character like her of being a bimbo. Yet more fine voice work from Jennifer Hale, coincidentally.
All in all, I still think most people voted for what they liked overall, and the hair color was not so important to them. If so, that proves that the vast majority are not prejudiced against anything, they simply have a preference for default FemShep, and it is being heard right now as it was in the original vote. I don't think you should feel like most people hate blondes or think they can't be badass--I certainly don't think it's the case with the majority.
Rinaros wrote...
It was a simple vote. "Here are 6
different appearences, pick the one you like best". The Blonde one won,
END OF STORY. voting for the blonde but actually wanting a redhead is
out of the question, thats not how it works. If you wanted a redhead,
vote for the redheaded one, DONT vote on the blonde one and then go "I
want that, but with red hair". It was supposed to be about "which model
AS A WHOLE do you like?". But apparently for some people thats to hard
to comprehend
"Hard to comprehend"--so in other words, people who thought the best FemShep was a compromise between two of the presented types are somehow stupid for thinking they could make happen--
exactly what has happened? Please tell me you're joking, because that just sounds silly and bitter at the same time.
People liked #5 "as a whole" because of the face and hairstyle, especially the latter, being better than all the others. If they had given us decent hairstyles with other colors, those might've won. They didn't because the original choices weren't all that balanced.
The fan base has spoken. #5 was chosen for the face and hairstyle; RedShep is chosen for her coloring. Sorry, but
you can't make this about anything more than it is--people wanted another hair color for the best hairstyle and face, and here we have the actual end of the story, where the majority wins and gets their best of both worlds option.
Ottemis wrote...
And yet on the first vote only 5k voted for the redhead. This whole thing strikes me as OFF.
Only 5k voted for the redhead because her severe, ugly little hairstyle didn't show very well that it even *was* red, it looked like a muddy brown almost because of the lighting, and it
sucked hairy donkey butt. Sorry to put it so plainly, but it's my honest opinion. I wanted to vote for a redhead, but hated that style so much. I would've preferred a blonde crewcut to #2's hairstyle.
On #5, however, you can go read for yourself how many tons of people said, "this one, but a redhead."
Nothing is off about that.

I
find it ironic that the Blondshep pushers that surfaced during Comic Con
were telling everyone who wasn't particularly happy with the majority
pick (and I'm not just talking about the whiners) "It's called
democracy. Deal with it." Now it seems that the shoe is on the other
foot and I'm hearing a lot of flak from that side talking about how
democracy is dead, Bioware doesn't care about its fans, the whiners got
their way because they *****ed and moaned, etc and so forth.
I
don't want to sound presumptuos, but the majority vote is speaking,
confirming what that one Bioware employee suspected; during the first
round, the majority voted on the hair style rather than the hair color.
Just
getting a little sick of the people that acted like the mature party
during the first round now grinding out comments like, "Fine! Be a
jerk! Babies want their Redsheps! Boo hoo, cry moar, u got ur way!" Based on the numbers,
it's obviously not just the whiners or the fans of
Redshep that prefer this look. Bioware gave us a general option to vote
on in the first round, then they fine-tuned that option in this round.
The voters are speaking.
Quoted for so very much truth.
