And now the one I voted for,and the winning femshep is the getting thrown in the trash for a do-over of hair color for a vocal minority of whiners, haters, and stereotypers of blondes.

Right, vocal minority, that's why the redhead is winning, because a *few people* whined! And then they and the Bioware staff members went to the houses of most of the people who liked blondes the best, and threatened their mothers' lives if they wouldn't vote red!!! It's all a great big conspiracy!

I'm sorry, but do you even hear yourself? That sentence was nonsense. If you want the platinum hair, you can go vote for it again, just like you did last time. If she is the true winner, she will easily make that landslide win a second time! If, on the other hand, people liked #5 the best for everything BUT the hair color, she will lose.

Being sore about this doesn't change a thing. The majority wanted #5, the majority wanted a new vote, and if the majority wants her with red hair, that will be it, period, and she will be the actual winning FemShep, which has not yet been chosen. The sooner you shrug off this hateful how-dare-you attitude, the happier you'll be. Stereotyping default-Jane fans is certainly no better than stereotyping video game blondes.

You'll win no votes for Blondie by crying foul about this fictional vocal minority which somehow brainwashed and held at gunpoint the majority to choose something other than what they actually wanted. At best, nothing will happen. At worst, people will start to see blonde fans as jerks and vote against her out of disgust for the argument. Do your choice a favor and make a decent, well-reasoned case for her being the best, rather than insulting people who liked something else better. Don't you think that's more constructive/effective?

Bioware should've done a three-part-poll. One for the face one for the hairstyle and one for hair color.
It would've been the only way to ensure a fair voting process.

Now, *that* makes sense to me; that's how it should have happened, as it is the most even-handed process by far. Too bad they didn't do it that way, but maybe if they do this again they'll make things a bit more fair from the get-go. Would head off a lot of arguments.

Now from who is "  the winning femshep is the getting thrown in the trash for a do-over of hair color for a vocal minority of whiners, haters, and stereotypers of redhead.  "

The last quote is mine. You or someone just added redhead to the end :P  It should read..

Can we just have the FemShep trailer now.... plzzzz. I'm so done with the polls and all the back and forth of what femshep "should" look like. There isn't one way. It's all in the eye of the beholder/player. I'm importing and my Femshep is blonde. Well 2 are blonde, one has black hair and the forth is a redhead. Enough of the yada yada yada yada blah blah blah. Bring on the trailer!!

I can't even begin to describe how disappointed I am in how femshep's default appearance was handled. I honestly hate that it was purely a beauty contest and that the fans were allowed to vote. These kinds of creative decisions should be made by the developers. I can understand the mechanics behind sex appeal, but this was just... terrible.
I still plan on buying the game (hell, I'm still excited, too), but my opinion of Bioware is only getting worse. :C

This is bull**** honestly. Blonde won the poll.

After red wins this time are you going to make a 3rd poll for some other group of whiners?

Question time:

Why do people care about default femshep? No one actually plays her, right?

Big Wolf, Sir.

First game, first play, i played Default Fem-Shep.  Infact she was my main Shepard through both games.. Then my system died and i lost my saves and went with a custom.

Right now, that group would be all the people saying it should be blondie no matter what, despite her not being the overwhelming favorite this time.

ITS ON THE BOX ART!!!!
OMG!!
some people are so butthurt its a conspiracy!!
Its insane people are so big on this that the hair color of what will be on the CE boxart will decide if they buy the game or not.
I start to question the sanity of BSN users.

I've used her to check some dialogue.  Other than that, no.  Custom.

Well, you're talking about what picture will go on a box. What else could you vote on?

Wolf: I have played as default again recently. Because i was too lazy to custom for the 9th time.

How much importance? To *me*, personally, very little. I didn't vote on the first poll. It wasn't really a big thing to me. I did however vote on this one, because freckles are sexy.

People care because the default is the base design for FemShep; it's the first thing you see before you decide whether to go with FemShep for your playthrough. Regardless of how popular the default appearance is, it's important that it is decent enough to begin with. I've personally come across quite a few people who used default Jane on at least one of their playthrough's. I use one of the presets for a FemShep of mine myself.

I don't understand it. They create a poll where we vote on Femshep, and people complain that the blonde is winning because she's blonde. Then they let us vote on the hair colour and people complain because the blonde isn't winning?
Honestly. The constant whining over this whole thing is getting tiresome. <_<

Thanks for the replies.

But that leads me to this:

Not a single person should be complaining. About ANYthing. I seriously doubt any of the pro-blondes actually use default femshep. At the end of the day, they are still going to use their own custom Shepards anyway, so why do you care so much? Also, I doubt anyone is going to skip purchasing ME3 because of this. I thought that having the fans vote on this was pretty cool (though I was a bit skeptical), but now this seems to have been a dumb idea.

This is rather interesting.

It seems that even when Bioware is trying to do something purely for the fans some of their fans actually dislike them more. Very very interesting.

The problem is rooted in the fact that a lot of us don't seem to realize that Miss Blondy FemShep didn't necessarily win the first poll because of her hair color, but rather because of her hair style and/or look.

Had real trouble with red vs black but went with red for 'red hair-green eye' look.

I'm sick of the black hole of complaints. First we had people complaining about Femshep being on the cover of the N7 Edition intermixed with people complaining about Femshep having an official face. Then we had a mixture of people complaining about Blondshep and people complaining about the voting process utilized. And now we have people complaining about how their vote was "invalidated" (even though that's an invalid word for what has happened) and complaining about how the complainers got their way by complaining, therefore becoming complainers themselves!

Y'know what? It's a good thing Bioware values fan feedback and is so darn patient with us because any other game developer would've thrown up its arms and said "forget these guys, let's just release the game how we want it and not listen to these kids, anymore." I was prepared for blondshep. I wasn't very happy with the choice (I personally wanted #2 with a better hairstyle), but the majority of the voters had spoken and who was I to complain? I would've accepted Femshep being blond because it was a nod towards how much Bioware values its fans. Then the second round came out. Was I angry? No, I wasn't. Bioware made the decision to have people vote on the hair color and I'm personally glad they did. We were given a general choice in the first round and now we are being given specifics in that choice (it's kind of like customizing your Shepard using democracy). Now the voters are speaking and what are the fans of the first choice doing? They've single-handedly become the enemies they so valiantly fought during Comic Con...

I would say "Y'all just need to get over it," but I think that dead horse has been beaten into a giant grease stain on the ground.

Perfect example of some BSN posters.

Bioware Dev: We have given you two rounds of voting. One general vote and the other to get more in specifics what else do you want us to do?

BSN: RABBLE, RABBLE, RABBLE, RABBLE!!!

Bioware Dev: What the hell does that mean?

BSN: We don't know. RABBLE, RABBLE, RABBLE, RABBLE

Bioware Dev: *sighs* Just use the flame thrower.

Wow, that's gratitude for you! I've noticed that forumites here try all the time to get their voices heard. So what does BW do? They try to give us a quality femShep, something that people have wanted for a long time, and allowed us to participate in a vote! They provided a wide array of options in a democratic process. People repaid them with massive amounts of whining.

Then BW decided that the forumites should have even more say in the process and, for whatever reason, felt that we should be able to choose from a variety of hair colors based on the Round 1 winner. Woops, who knew that so many people would hate having even more of a say in determining the appearance of the new default femShep!

Personally, I'm all for more choices. As far as the current voting goes, if the blonde Shep had been such a gigantic hit, she'd still be winning, wouldn't she? The fact that the redhead seems to be in the lead (last I heard) would seem to indicate that more people preferred the blonde for her hairstyle than the color itself.
