Democracy at work.

If your idea of "Democracy at work" is "don't like the result of a poll then throw it out and do it all over again" then you have a very strange idea of democracy.

Tell that to Al Gore.

Also, they didn't throw it out.... they took the hairstyle that won and asked what color people want it. Just proves that people weren't voting for color... but hairstyle, like I said multiple times... but you all told me to shut up and deal with it.

Funny thing is... I haven't voted for either of the winners of these polls. I voted Shep 4 in the first and Shep 1 in this one...

Yes, it has been in the air for some time before it was released. it is unfortunate that bw doesn't have a spine.

Yes I must admit the hypocrisy you guys are showing is quite hilarious.  I take it you now view the vote as being "legitimate" do you ?  I take it you no longer feel that Bioware is just catering for the "hormonally challenged males" do you ?

The only people that have acted hypocritcally in this whole thing are the ones that ****ed and moaned about the first poll till they got a second one.

So? Those very vocal people were obviously a minority and Bioware specifically stated they read posts from people who basically said they like Fem shep 5 but would have preferred she had different hair. Its quite obvious that those who wanted different hair are mostly sensible people who just wanted a different style.

If your idea of "Democracy at work" is "don't like the result of a poll then throw it out and do it all over again" then you have a very strange idea of democracy.

The fact that they used the same face and same hair style for Fem shep in the second poll pretty much dispproves your claim that they threw out the poll. Also people mostly liked #5 its just that they would prefer her with different hair. This second poll proves that.

They didn't throw out the results.  They never stated that the haircolor was going to stay blonde.  We still are voting on the same overall design of Femshep but now with more detail.  This also is more representative of the overall population who may have voted for a different design of Femshep.

Yes they did state that the hair colour was going to stay whatever we voted for.  The first poll was very very very clear, it said "Vote for the femshep you WANT IN THE GAME".  I would say that is pretty clear to me, it certainly does not indicate that you are only voting for certain aspects of femshep.

Oh right so now because red haired femshep is winning it is suddenly "more representative" is it ?  Tell me what has happened to the chorus of criticism about the facebook poll when femshep 5 was winning ?  What has happened to the rubbish like "men shouldn't be allowed to vote in this poll" and "this poll should only be for femshep gamers".  Now all of a sudden face book polling is "legitimate" again.

Because they are letting their fans have more depth in the default femshep creation?

Honestly this whole affair shows why developers really shouldn't listen to fans when it comes to character design.  They should do what the background and story necessitates.  If the writers envision her as whatever color or design then they should go with that.

I would agree with this but Bioware started marketing Fem Shep solely because of the fan support. Now just using standard reasoning they should let the fans vote for a Fem Shep. Now me personally I wouldn't have let the fans vote since BSN members can be whiny SOBs most of the time but I guess bioware kind of wants to focus on some of the other fans who are more sensible and won't complain over every single thing.

Well there really isn't a canon sex for Shepard if I understand correctly.  So based on that they should have developed a canon female, similar to Sheploo, and stuck by that.  Yes I'm aware there's a generic female already but my understanding is that it was never officially christened as Femshep similar to Sheploo.

But the face is altered. How do you know that the people who are voting for the hair now doesn't want the old face back? See, that's the issue here. It isn't just about her hair color. The face has been altered, too. Clearly the only way to solve this is through more polls. Who cares if they end up contradicting each other ultimately. We need more polls!

Didn't just change the hair color with the redhead. they took the beauty mark away and gave her freckles. Its a small thing but they did change her... a little. Personally I like the beauty mark better than freckles *shurgs* oh well. Like I said its a small thing.

Thats what they are trying to do now lol (Canon isn't the best word for it). Its just that people keep ****ing about actually getting a choice in this.

The face hasn't been altered by much. Only freckles and green eye color (characteristics that some red heads have). If the change was nose structure or jaw line then you would have a argument.

I dont know if people is blind or what, but redhead has #2 face not the #5 winner, the face is different. So yes, they pretty much threw out the poll

They should have just done what they wanted in the first place. As soon as blonde won, the fiery depths of nerd rage surfaced on the forums and everything shifted, so now it's like one big popularity contest. Whatever. Make her bald for all I care...oh, they already did that with Jack.

I hope that's sarcasm. If not then oh plz. Blonde shep was my fav but if red shep wins that sure won't stop me from getting the CE.

I don't like how RedShep looks, easy as that. I hope they'll create multiple versions of the CE, as they should've done from the beginning with the initial six FemSheps.

Yes but this should have been done at the beginning of the trilogy.  Oh well.

Well that femshep design is still in the game.  Honestly haircolor is a very minor tweak which it seems a very good number of people wanted judging by the fact that blonde is either last or near last in the new polling.

I'm sure there will be people complaining about the results.;)

Overall though people really can't complain after this.  Bioware really didn't have to do the second round but it did prove that apparently that 'vocal minority' actually represented the majority.

To me its too small to really be significant in anyway. Hair to most people is more important usually then freckles or eye color. Those 2 details are familiarized with red heads so that argument won't really work (not saying its yours)

So changing her eye color and giving her freckles isn't a substantial change at all according to you? And I still have an argument as neither of those pertain to hair color. Clearly we need to have a poll for her eye color and then another poll for freckles for things to be fair, no?

The eye form is also different, and thats what disturbs me the most, they are more rounded and gently shaped. Why they dont keep the winner eyes or face in that one i just cant understand

Considering that you are the only who even sees that pretty much tells you that you are in a very small minority who sees that and I'm sorry but I am going to assume you are wrong since I don't see #2's face in #5. Also all the faces are very similar anyway.

That would be tedious. Also, I doubt Bioware cares if one person doesn't buy the CE.

Its not. Many Red Heads or gingers or whatever have freckles and sometimes green eyes. Those characteristics are so akin to stereo typical red heads that it isn't a significant difference.

They should just put a bag over her head and let people imagine what she looks like. That way everyone gets what they want... sort of ;)
