See that's where I'm conflicted.  There are so few good sci-fi RPG series out now yet I want something like a sequel to Jade Empire.  Maybe do something stand-alone then do another series set in the Mass Effect universe.

As a FemShep fan I just want the trailer I don't care anymore which shep is in it. I didn't care in the first place. Before the first vote I thought it was gonna be the orginal FemShep and I was fine with it, just excited that Femshep was getting a trailer. What irritated me to no end was all the blonde bashing. Why so much hate for blondes:crying: and now people are still complaining. It basicly comes down to this....Rabble rabble rabble rabble

I don't think anyone was expecting it, but it's something a lot of people have been hoping for.  I know a lot of people have expressed interest in changing Sheploo's haircut or giving him a beard, and this dashes those (vain) hopes as well.

I hope they still intend to allow us to tweak imported custom Sheps, though.  That news made me very happy.

#5 won the first poll fair and square by a landslide. It was never announced that there would be other polls. Now all of a sudden it’s “Oh, forget that first poll, that was just the hairstyle. This round is hair color, and the next one will be eye color”. Hm. Where did that come from?

This is a cop out if I’ve ever seen one, or at least it is certainly coming across as such. And that’s why I’m disappointed. If it wasn’t a beauty contest then, it has become one now. If it wasn’t “superficial”, now it is. And if I wasn’t offended by all the backlash that took place, now I kind of am. They didn’t stand up for that result, a decision made by us players. To counter all the whining when #5 won the first poll, because she was a blonde. And apparently, blondes are “dumb bimbos and pornstars with glued-on nail and Chihuahuas in their bags” so that couldn’t be our heroine. That couldn’t be the strong female that saves the galaxy. But if you dyed her hair red (or black, or brown, whatever) she’s suddenly acceptable. Her IQ went up, she removed her glue-on nails and got rid of the Chihuahua. And dropped her day job in adult flicks to become the all-mighty savior of the galaxy. Behold the power of a bottle of red hair dye.

Yes, because blondes are superficial. Riiight. *extreme sarcasm*

I said it before and I’ll repeat, I would have been happy with any of the options in the first poll. It happened that #5 won. Now let’s imagine that #2 (redhead) had won. And there’d be multiple threads and literally hundreds of pages whining about that result (that was reached democratically btw), because “Gingers suck”. They are “dumb bimbos who smell like copper” and “get sunburns indoors at night” and as such they are weak and less capable. They can’t represent Femshep for those exact reasons. And all of a sudden a new poll is created stating that it was about the hairstyle and not the color. That people liked because it was pulled back and that’s more appropriate for a soldier, doesn’t get in the way etc etc.

That’s sort of how I feel about this. I’m just… disappointed.

Only now they have Bioware at their back validating their disgusting behavior.
It's like Bioware saw the reaction to the first poll and were like "You know, they might be on to something. Shepard would be too much of a ditzy **** if we made her blonde. What were we thinking?! Re-do!"

I just hope this nonsense is over soon. I'm not really pleased that this was a beauty contest in the first place and the longer it goes on, the more disturbing it gets.

To be honest I think anyone else who thinks that Bioware will do another poll is likely wrong. They probably won't be doing another simply because the majority will vote for whoever they like best. The way it should be.

Just a little mention, but to the few who were complaining about the “new” face that now has freckles--I just looked at my female Shepard who is based off the default preset and she has freckles. They’re light, but still there when it shows a close up of her. I admit I only customize the first preset. I wonder if all the presets have them, or just the first one. Anyway, a minute thing, but I thought I would mention it.

I mean, SOMEONE over at Bioware HQ had to bring up the, "Are we doing this because we want to give the players more choice, or are we doing this because we're caving in to the Blonde hate?" argument.
