Yeah, I brought that up earlier. Why throw extra attention to the Redhead by changing things up a little and not slightly alter the others?
There's actually a funny story behind that, you know. Here's some background:
There was a vote on twitter
before any posters came up; a vote for FemShep's preferred coloring.
Red hair and green eyes (which I voted for when I had to choose between my own hair color and what I thought would suit FemShep the best)
WON THAT POLL. Some people mentioned freckles, too. So that's where they came from, those green eyes and freckles, and Ginger's coloring won first, before Blondie was even conceived.

I would say the first poll was pretty clear in it's intentions. The first poll we voted on clearly stated "Like the FemShep YOU WANT IN THE GAME". It did not say "hey **** in the comment section about some aspects and we will do a do over for you".
So
yeah I would say Bioware's original intention was to have 1 poll and
just because a few complained we got saddled with another poll where
emphasis was put on the Ginger one, the blonde vote was split and the
poll started after a huge negative campaign against blonde option from
the media.
The snag with blonde fans' whole "Bioware caved", "the first poll should've been the determining factor" running gag is that the first poll
wasn't the first poll.
From David Silverman's Twitter: (Thanks, JamieCOTC)
OK, so for #FemShep, the Red Hair votes continue to flood overwhelmingly. As for eyes, hearing a lot of green with some blue. Act now! Red won. Then it was thrown out because the posters were from far away and the ONLY redhead didn't even look like one. She had a tight, severe hairstyle that could've just as easily been brown, not red. Can you blame us for feeling slighted? We asked the same questions you did--"What, didn't *our* vote matter? Why is this happening? Did somebody do this on purpose because they preferred something other than our choice?" We were told that what we voted for contributed to their thinking about the posters or something like that. Nobody loved it, but what could we say?
You can talk about being screwed over, but
Ginger fans were screwed over before Blondie fans, and all any of us asked for was the opportunity to
re-vote for what actually won in the first place. If we hadn't been the majority, Ginger wouldn't have such a clear lead now. This is what the fans want, it's as simple as that--it's not about blonde hate or brunette hate or anything else. It's not because of a lot of people making new fake accounts, or red hair wouldn't have had a landslide on Twitter also. (I assume no one is stupid enough to say, "The votes on Twitter and facebook for redheads were mostly fake double-votes, but the votes for #5 were mostly unique!!!")
So if blonde fans still don't like this and think it's unfair, rest in the knowledge that Bioware is only correcting their first error--and before a
single person raised their voice to complain about #5,
red hair and green eyes were the fan choice already. So no, this didn't come out of nowhere because of sudden whining after #5 came out on top, and no, it's not just blonde fans who lost what they wanted because of some factor beyond their control.
We were screwed,
then you were screwed--now you know how it feels, but since even uniting the blonde vote doesn't come close to the second runner up's score, it's fairly obvious which group was right about what the fan base really prefers.
Sorry for those who wanted a blonde or another face--honestly, I preferred another face, too--but to those complaining that this
third vote is somehow unfair to blonde fans, it's no more unfair than the
first poll being thrown out was to the redhead-fan majority.

Everybody! Vote for BroShep's hair color!

I laughed harder than I should have. "Maybe he's born with it, Maybe it's Mass Effect"
Me, too, but there should've been a green-haired Shepdude as well!

I voted for the Gingerbread man, though Pink was pretty tempting too; you?

Well by making a poorly executed poll
in the first place, they made sure the only femshep face that was worth a
damn (#3) wasn't chosen, because of the hairstyle. #3 was, is and will
forever be superior to any and all femsheps and malesheps ever.
I actually agree with you there; I loved her best, and I would play as her in a heartbeat. Too bad her hair looked so primly kept; I voted for her, but in all honesty I can't imagine FemShep looking so proper. I wish they'd thought better of those tight styles; most FemSheps I've seen don't use them because they're very hard to pull off.
