I just realized that Ginger Shepard could also be known as Red Five.

This was meant to be.

This is my favourite post on the BSN today.

No, no they will have a fourth poll so that they can equally screw over everybody.. at least nobody can complain then. Or can they?

Now we have a second poll where the blonde vote is split, the ginger one has had extra attention applied to her giving her a unique look over the other 3 and it comes on the back of a huge anti-blonde campaign.  Hell where are the people that complained that "face book isn't legitimate" and "people shouldn't be allowed to vote for femshep on facebook" people now ?  All of a sudden because red hair is winning the facebook poll is legitimate again is it ?

Bioware has completely screwed up the promotion of femshep already.  As an avid femshep fan I actually want them to go back to ignoring her, because if this is the best Bioware can do then it just isn't worth it.

......
This is absolutely childish.  If you can't win then nobody should be happy?  Even if the blonde colors were united, it would still be in third place.  Also people are allowed to 'vote' more than once.  Not to mention they are two separate colors.  I personally prefer the darker/dirty blonde over the lighter version and would only vote that.  The 'extra' attention was making it so the eyes would somewhat match the hair.  The blondes got the blue eyes so the reds got the green.  Both stereotypical.  Only the blacks gots screwed over but blue is a pretty universal color for eyes.  Freckles are so small of a detail that I doubt most people noticed.

The reason people still aren't complaining about FB is that red is the current default Femshep's color and so if they had posted the second poll on BSN, I doubt the results would be any different then they are now.  Heck it would probably be more lopsided.

A majority of people do not want blonde.  Simple as that.  Bioware got a ton of emails saying people did not want blonde so they did another poll and those emails were correct.  They did the right decision.

Seriously get over it and move on.

There should be poll round 3 - fans decided her hairstyle and deciding now on her hair colour - crucial things in ME universe... now start whining about her bottom (not enough military bottom, too curvey) and her breasts ofc, 'cause we all know that military smart women can't have something even resembling breasts - we can't have Barbie/bimbo standards there. And what about the lack of nose, strong one, broken at least once? We should have poll on that too. What a sharade... I mean, really lol .

I'm a blonde in real life, I've had to put up with two weeks of everyone and theri dog throwing a monumental hissy fit about how blondes are stupid bimbos and can't possibly represent Shepard because they are too stupid to hold a gun properly and should stick with cheerleading. BlondeShep wins anyway, thank god, and then we all get shafted by Bioware throwing up another poll. So no, I will continue complaining about being lied to and having to put up with two weeks of vile abuse of my natural hair colour to no purpose, thanks all the same.

Everyone understands they can just push a slider forward one or two ticks to change the hair color without changing anything else right?

Yeah they aren't complaining now because THEIR choice is winning.  Isn't it funny how they literally went out of their way to scream how it was stupid to allow facebook users to vote for femshep, it was stupid to allow males to vote for femshep it should only be women voting.  Yet now because their preferred choice is winning all of a sudden everything is legitimate and right again

A majority do not want a ginger femshep, the polls do not give ginger shep a majority just like femshep 5 did not have a majority.  You just re-inforced my point, if you don't get what you want then **** to Bioware and they will cave in and do it all over again till you do get what you want.

*sigh* Have completely missed the whole "Vote for FemShep" thing (Round 1) and am not taking part in the Round 2 because...

I absolutely and positively AM NOT FOND OF (read, understatement) any of the options presented (from Round 1 OR Round 2) and much, MUCH prefer the default FemShep look we've had in ME and ME2 to date (with a possible hair style and colour adjustment here or there, maybe even add a scar or two). My only consolation is that I very much HOPE I will indeed be able to customize my FemShep in ME3 to get that default ME and ME2 preset... and if not, guess default MaleShep will be my only ME3 experience*.

ME and ME2 FemShep rocks and is a total badass. I have no desire whatsoever to play ME3 with a Barbie.

(yes, I know, totally missed the boat with this argument, been spending too much time over at the DA forum and not poking my head in the ME forum enough)

PS. *Which will be a shame indeed, as I ADORE Jennifer Hale, so I very much hope that Bioware won't screw this up. By all means, have the Barbie option (for what exact reason, I am not quite sure, but whatever) but also keep the continuity alive and give us the option to have our badass FemShep.

Can somebody, anybody, point out where Bioware said it was only going to be one poll? Or two for that matter because this latest round might end in tears for the smug if BW's history of mixing it up continues.

The first poll simply said 'vote for the femshep you want tosee in the game', no talk of 'vote for the face you want to see' or first round voting or anything like that. It was clear cut, we were voting for the FemShep we wanted to see as the canonical choice.

Well apparently a sizable population of the people who voted 5 last time around did not want blonde.  So the first poll apparently didn't reflect what the public wanted.

I doubt they would be complaining even if blonde was winning again because unlike the first poll, this is only about hair color.  The first poll had substantial differences that influenced people's opinions.  Also yes it's their choice that's winning which represents the largest portion of the population.

A majority surely don't want a light blonde femshep.  Where's the complaining about splitting the non-blonde vote between black and red?

So you want to force a color on people that most apparently do not want because you feel your sense of honor was somehow violated.  Ok.

Also they never stated that they weren't going to do another poll over something else.  Lawyer-talk but completely accurate.

You were warned that the majority didn't prefer the color blonde. You had been warned that there would be the possibility of another vote.

Arrogant, authoritarian, you yourself decided that there would be no new polls when Bioware promised nothing, you despised the other who in your eyes had no right to ask for options, simply because she was blonde. Remember, " she's blonde, yeah, do not ask options deal with it."

Why bioware should waste resources and time ? You don't like defauft femshep ? deal with it, use the CC shepard. YOUR ****ing words.

Now, that blondie isn't sure to be on the trailer, you ask for options.

Now you're bitter and you behave like children. pay the price of your hypocrisy and your arrogance.

If blondie win, it doesn't bother me, now that it was showed how selfish you are, and you do not deserve to win. Since the first time with your dirty behavior.

Well, as a a matter of fact...
http://social.biowar...66/polls/23510/
RedShep cleaned up here, too.

I really don't get the big deal.  Being dirty blond myself, I was kinda irritated but not really surprised that so many people got butthurt over a Blond, as people on the internet get upset when you tell them the sun will rise in the East.  However, this second poll seems to be confirming what some on facebook were saying, that they voted for the overall look (which was awesome) rather than hair color, and given a choice they'd have chosen a different color.  I mean, Red Head's up to 15K+ and next closest is Raven with 10, combined the 2 blonds have 8, last I checked.  It's not even a contest, much as the first poll ceased being a contest in the first two days.

So as much fun as it would have been to stick it to the anti-Blond losers, I have no issues with RedShep being the default FemShep.

It said that but made no indication it was the one and only poll anywhere. If Bioware had said, 'this is your one chance [...]' you would be correct. They didn't. You are incorrect. The same character has moved to round two and is thoroughly getting stomped by something like 3.5 to 1 last I checked. Apparently she isn't as popular as some would like to believe.

Who is to say this poll reflects what the public want ?  If you can claim that the first poll didn't reflect what the public want then this poll which is using the same mechanism is as "equally invalid" then.

Yes they would be complaining if blonde shep was winning again.  I have no doubt had blonde femshep won the second poll we would be looking at a third poll just because of the ginger fans adamant that femshep is ginger   That is one of the reasons why I am not voting in this second poll.  I don't see the point all that will happen is Bioware will invalidate the winner if it doesn't suit the ginger fans.

AlphaJarmel wrote...

No I want them to adhere to the FIRST poll like they were going too.  That poll showed that 32,000 wanted FemShep 5.

Yes they did, the first poll clearly stated "vote for the femshep you WANT IN THE GAME".  I think that is pretty damn clear to me.

You want a poll on the freckles or eye color?  Go ahead but I can already tell you the results for that.

No that poll showed that 32,000 wanted that particular hairstlye for 5.  Of that 32,000 some people voted for the haircolor in addition to the hairstyle while others just voted for that hairstyle.

Again that line doesn't preclude there being a second poll. In addition, they never designated what parts of the femshep they would use in the game. You assumed, incorrectly, everything from the femshep would be included in the game based off that line.

Yes it does "preclude" there being a second poll, it clearly states "IN THE GAME" I did not assume "incorrectly" there is very little in the title of the poll to "assume" it was pretty damn clear.  You are just making gibberish up to try and support your view.  The first poll was pretty clear "Vote for the femshep you want in the game" there is no "ambiguity" there.  We were given 6 femsheps to vote on and the winner would appear in the game.  You are just clutching at straws to try and support your viewpoint.

Exactly.  We're already well on our way to seeing 32,000 (or more) votes for Ginger Shep, and nothing near that for Blonde Shep.

Blonde Shep fans think they are the only ones who's vote matters, I guess. Bioware should have ignored majority opinion and just consulted Blonde Shep Fans, only then would it be 'fair'.

Maybe a fair few feel like I do in that it is a complete waste of time voting so they aren't bothering to vote.  I made my voice heard in the first poll Bioware chose to ignore it and 32,000 other votes and do a do over.  So why the hell would I want to vote again when in all likelihood if it doesn't turn out how "some" want it they will do yet another "do over".

Quite a few that voted in the first poll probably don't even know there is a second poll going on.  I mean after all it was pretty clear in the first poll that we were voting for the femshep we want in the game.  The first poll gave no indication we would have to vote a second time because of a few complainers.  It probably never enters anyone's head that a company would be so moronic as to do another poll when the first one had a clear winner.
