Not everyone who wanted a redhead is psychotic about blondes. That was a vocal minority. There were many more reasonable people who just preferred red to blonde. I have a feeling that it was those people that convinced Bioware to make the second vote, rather than the crazy haters.

The entire scenario is absurd. Bioware should take some artistic license and decide themselves.

I'm torn about Bioware. On the one hand, they have the most whiny, unpleasable fanbase imaginable, and I kind of want those whiners to be given a huge middle finger by Bioware.

On the other hand, almost every single time Bioware has choses to address problems brought up by whiners, they have ended up making a better game. It's uncanny.

This is what scares me about Bioware's future more than anything.  They don't seem to have much steel in their spine when it comes to the fanbase.  If they're going to keep making some of the more premier story driven games that push the genre forward they're going to need creative conviction.  The greatest stories weren't forged by handing the details out to the masses.  Did George Lucas let the masses vote on what colors the lightsabers should have?  The whole voting on Femshep thing is an example of creative cowardice and Bioware's showing no heart at all.

Bending to the whiners may work for now but sooner or later they going break something from bending too much.

Do not even use George Lucas at all as an example because many Star Wars fan have been beginning to become pissed off at him. Also I believe you missed the point of Fata's post.

Is... is this sarcasm?  I'm honestly not sure if your entire post was intended as a parody.

George Lucas made 3 amazing films which are considered by many as classics. He did this while not having full control of the work, collaborating with other people and taking their input - sometimes being forced to take their input even if he didn't like it.

Then he made 3 prequels to those movies, prequels which are widely considered some of the worst films ever made. He made these films with no collaboration with other artists, following soley his own vision of what he thought was good and ignoring most criticism of that vision.

George Lucas is the best example you could name to prove that Bioware has got it right.

You... you guys know that you can multi-vote, right? You can't use percentages of mult-votes the way you're doing, not without knowing how many people are casting more than one ballot.

Edit: Let me clarify this, I don't mean you can vote for the same model twice, I mean you can vote for both ginger shep and blonde shep. Or you can vote for all 4. There's no way to *really* tell the majority percentages from that. Though currently Ginger Shep has almost as many votes as all the others combined, which does tell you something.

The largest consensus went to femshep 5. And now, the largest consensus is going to femshep 5 with red hair. There is nothing rigged about that.

But this is useless. You are so butthurt about the whole thing - ridiculously so because, if I recall correctly, you're one of the people who are refusing to vote 'in protest'  - that you won't be reasoned with, no, everything with the world is wrong if you don't get blondeshep, but you have no right to b-tch if you're not going to vote.

You will have to if you expect anyone to understand your rage. I've been repeating myself plenty of times and it would be nice if you could so I can understand your anger (I think I already do) over this situation.

False that argument hasn't been used in the first round of voting. The main argument was that a lot of people like Fem shep 5 hair style but they would prefer it if she would have a different hair color. The majority hasn't voted for Red shep but the Majority hasn't voted for blonde shep either. In fact a small minority has which indicates that it is the least perferable out of all of them.

As I stated in another thread: It’s too lulzy that people are vehemently complaining about Bioware giving into demands and fanservice and complainers. Didn’t they do that with the whole “Give femshep her own!” spiel anyway? Had they not given into that, femShep would still be in the background. I agree the whole vote thing is silly, and I did hate blond Shep. I was disappointed she won the first poll, but I didn’t lose any sleep over it. After all, I was going to use my custom femshep anyway. Glad to see red is winning, though.


I find the whole “Bioware rigged this bs!” ridiculous. If so many people wanted blond shep, she’d still be winning in spite of the haters. I think it boils down to a majority chose the blond for the hairstyle and this vote pretty much proves it.

The majority did vote for the preset 5, we had the preset 5. I voted black shepard, she's not here... So ? If again the majority vote redhead for preset 5, we'll have redhead for preset 5. Now we can vote about something else, ( but bioware said this will be the last round ) but not vote about the same thing, sorry !
