This second round of voting was a stupid idea.
You are so wrong about this. Talk about a brilliant marketing move by Bioware. It stirs up all sorts of interest - good or bad. This is exactly what you want if you are trying to get your product noticed and in the news. Controversial? Maybe. Still, it's getting attention. A lot of attention.
Will it irritate people? Well, we know the answer to that already don't we? Does it help define what the greatest number of people deem the default FemShep? Clearly.
I'm still at a loss how so many associate this as being an insult or direct attack on them due to it being a strategic PR stunt. it's nothing personal, just business.

Your original choice is still there they didn't change the original blonde so it really doesn't make a difference if the people want blonde to win she wouldcharmingcharlie wrote...
So if this vote is just to determine hair colour why the hell did Bioware give red hair femshep significant changes to what WE VOTED FOR ?

They should have just left it at the first vote and been done with it instead of caving in to a bunch of whiners on the BSN and ignoring the votes of 30K+ people.
But that's not the Bioware way *checks with fourms...*
Yeah, that's not the Bioware way.
Well, in truth you're right. I should have known better but the first vote was such a landslide victory in favor of blonde hair, blue eyed, beauty mark femShep I didn't expect a handful of BSN whiners to be able to overturn such a staggering win as that. My own fault for letting myself get excited about it.
Now the default femShep isn't going to have any of the distinguishing qualities of the actual winner of the vote.

Hm have I accused Bioware of introducing bias into the poll, erm yep after all they are running the poll are they not ? They are the ones that made the significant changes to red haired femshep did they not ? So yeah Bioware introduced bias into the poll. I have always said that I have been saying that for 2 damn pages. So yes Bioware are guilty of introducing bias into the poll why is that an issue with you ?1136342t54 wrote...
I've literally said multiple times that I would be more inclined to listen to you if actually didn't keep accusing Bioware is intentionally making a optional shepard that would win.
What I have never stated is whether this bias is intentional or unintentional. I personally do not think it is an intentional thing that they want a red haired femshep but I will say from what we have seen it is enough evidence to suggest that both polls were ****ed up right from the beginning and Bioware should be ashamed of themselves for screwing something like this up.

Wait, so people who say or whine they didn't want a blonde Shepard are whiners but people whining how unfair it is there's a second round of voting aren't?
Dude, you're whining about whining.
Well they proved that whining on the BSN is the way to get major changes made. Just trying to fall in line. At least my whining has 30K+ votes behind it instead of just a ridiculous prejudice against blonde people.
It doesn't have 30K votes behind it, given a significant proportion of those 30,000 liked the hairstyle but asked for a color change.
If it was merely the 9000 red head and brunette voters from the first round whining they didn't get their way, like you suggest, why have the #5 Red and #5 Brunette options picked up almost all of those 30,000 votes between them?

No they didn't change the original blonde, they left 3 femsheps exactly the same and gave red haired femshep a make over. Really are you seriously saying you cannot understand why this makes a mockery of both polls ? People have been saying on here that poll 1 was for the "basic" features of femshep and not the hair colour. Right that is fine no problem with that then. So why is it that the second poll which is meant to be just about hair colour we find red haired femshep get unique features but the others don't ? I thought the second poll was just about hair colour according to some on here.

This is getting frustrating. You were not being specific when stating your bias. By saying Bioware was being purely bias you are accusing them of wanting Red Head shep to win period. That is what I disagree with and it is part of the reason your argument was off.charmingcharlie wrote...

The first poll was just fine if you look at it simply as vote who you like the most. Sure they could have fixed the faces a little but overall it was alright. The Second poll was for the people who voted for #5 but still wanted a different hair color. Now to appease these fans Bioware thought it would be nice to include this.
Did the artist for the red head shep had some unintentional bias for putting in the freckles and green eyes for the red head shep? Maybe because even if the artist just threw in some added things for the red head shep just because that is what they think a red head would look like and others looke perfect then it is possibly unintentional bias. Even then In statistics, bias is systematic favoritism present in data collection, analysis or reporting of quantitative research. It is less favoritism and more of a mistake.
Edit: Like I said before I probably would say your argument was reasonable if you didn't accuse BW as playing favoritism when the simplest answer is likely the artist not caring about how serious those small features would mean to people.
Hell even in the pics no one actually noticed the differences until someone on BSN made high res pics of them.

If #4 had won, I would certainly have asked them for a version with out the red streak in her hair or perhaps a different hairstyle. I would've also like to have seen a hispanic Femshep in the first round.

People are hypocrites. They complain about whining about blondes but whine in the same time about redheads . No wonder nobody takes you seriously.
There's hardly any attacking of redheads on this thread other than the pro-blonde people thinking she looked better that way. Everyone has their preferences. There's very little stereotyping of red hair going on right now, compared to the massive amounts of complaints stereotyping blonde shep. I would even argue that some of the points, like Femshep looking too young/cute, have even more ammunition since the freckles and the bold green eyes make the new shep look a bit younger and cuter than blonde shep.
Many people are being hypocrites and its on all sides of the argument. Even worse are those people who tried to vilify the facebook voting process at its core, only to flip 180 and say poll 2 is fair. Again, I don't see a lot of people saying the voting process is unfair in itself, but they do have a problem with a second poll after a huge landslide for blonde shep. The first poll was obviously built up as being the final decision for Femshep and that once the choice was made, there would be no other chances. This is even supported by the way the guy on Bioware TV announced the 2nd poll.
Based on that, it seems Bioware just wanted to address the overwhelming demand for another hair colour and wanted to make sure they got the most accurate femshep fans wanted most (and for marketing purposes). The freckles and green eyes were just a design decision to compliment the redhead shep's hair colour. Unfortunately, not only did they mislead a lot of people and do a big "fake" with this 2nd poll, it untintentionally has the consequence of reaffirming the underlying prejudice vs. blondes and creates a situation where it looks like femshep 2 was favoured by devs.
I think a lot of the bad blood will fade in time. Right now were focusing on details and in the end both blonde and ginger shep will look 90% the same. The only thing that might be a problem is if they get the freckles wrong or the eyes too green. If that happens watch all the threads about how Femshep looks too cartoony, or something along those lines.

No my argument is NOT off you are just too stubborn to accept it. Tell me did Bioware create the second poll ? Yes they did. Did Bioware give extra detail to red haired femshep and neglect the other three ? Yes they did. Therefore simple bloody logic says to us that Bioware made the second poll with an inherent bias towards red haired femshep which is what I have been saying for 3 damn pages now, you just keep going but but but.1136342t54 wrote...

Then it makes a mockery of both polls, the first poll we voted for a long haired, blue eyed, pale faced mole ridden femshep did we not ? That means if the second poll is JUST about hair colour we should have four long haired, pale faced, blue eyed, mole ridden femsheps but with different coloured hair right ? After all this is just about the hair colour and femshep 5 won with everything else right.
Then he shouldn't have because we didn't vote for that did we, we voted for a long haired blue eyed, pale faced, mole ridden femshep. That was the winner end of discussion, so by making red femshep significantly different they are basically ignoring the result of poll 1 and introduced a bias in red femsheps favour because she has unique features the others do not.1136342t54 wrote... True there could have been a lot more choices. I think the marketing guys and the devs wanted a narrowed down field so they would only need 1 vote, instead of countless runoffs. Looks like they may make it out alive with 2...

Maybe black hair Shep would be winning right now if she would have the same threatment as red, green eyes and "cute" freckles. I bet many people dont like moles
Either way the poll was made wrong, they indeed gived redshep special features, and they separate blonde into 2 options (light and dirty blond). This poll seems a little odd to me, and no, i dont care what hair color this Shep has at the end
