It's not ridiculous and on their part it took like 10 minutes to make the 4 proposals and post them on facebook. You complain that people take this hair color issue too seriously while taking the voting process also too seriously.

This poll is like voting for Obama then voting for what color shirt we want him to wear at his speeches. Say there was a picture of him up when you voted for him and he was wearing a blue shirt in that picture, would you really be angry if people thought he looked better in green and chose that instead? Seriously, that's it. The other analogies on here don't even make any sense.

Also I think this proved that all references to presidential elections are really quite silly!

 All femsheps from the first and second poll wear the N7 armor. Her outfit is always the same. Your analogy would be right if the fans would have to vote between different armors. That is not the case.   We're talking about physicall characteristics like the colour of the skin, the gender, or in femsheps case the haircolour. But that is not the problem.

It is about the rules and the principle of a simple poll. I picked the presedential election of Obama because it  is general public knowledge, nothing else. You may believe I have a problem with red haired femshep. I don't, she looks good. I have a problem with how things were handled after #5 won the original poll. #2 has been given special treatment. She scored fifth.Yet #1, 3, 4 and 6 have been excluded. Why don't we start a second poll every time someone has problem? Miss Minnesota won the poll because she had a better hair stylist. Make a new poll. England only won the world cup because the referee was biased. Return match. And where does it end?

But it's too late to change it. The damage is done. The only thing I am curious about is what BioWare is going to do now. I was trying to come up with a solution of how to appease everyone in the end. Funny, this seems to be the only thing no one seems to want.

It's true that it only takes Photoshop and 10 minutes to make those 4 pictures, that's not what I'm concerned about.

What I'm concerned about is that this nonsense is delaying the production of the default femShep. Just get it over with and release the femShep trailer already!

Why is it delaying? They still have 9 months to further marketize their game. There's no rush here, the only rush here is yours.

As a maleShep player I'm actually looking forward to the default femShep because I suck at the character creator and the previous default femShep was ugly so...

I always play Sheploo and I'm planning on playing the default femShep if she actually looks nice in-game. But I honestly don't care what haircolor she has. I just want BioWare to get it over with and give us a femShep trailer.

Ok then, you shouldave said that before, that Bioware is failing particularly your own private sense of entitlement to the existence of a trailer. I'd have ignored you more.

Because that didn't happen. That's why you aren't surprised by it. Seriously though, you sense you are entitled to a "fair game" with "fair rules", etc. But that wasn't the whole point, Bioware's objective was to make FemShep as close as possible to the vision that their fans had of her. Bioware's objective was not to make a "fair game". If they find as they did that the choice was made, but also that the choice had a big caveat on the part of many commenters in facebook, then the fact that they addressed that fact properly is a good thing, not a bad thing. You are showing pettiness over details here.

You didn't understand the second poll at all. No, all of those femsheps were excluded. This poll was a refinement of shepard #5 from the first poll.

Syledir is referring (I believe) to the fact that Redhead!Shep actually has the face of the original #2, but the hairstyle of #5. She isn't just a recolour of #5, unlike the other 3. Thus the original femshep #2 is actually covertly entered into the new poll, despite coming fifth in the original.

I don't care much myself, but this is the point I believe Syledir was making, so I wanted to clarify it.

She does. The eye shape and colour are different, for instance - there's also the inclusion of the freckles over the beauty mark. You basically need a hi-res picture to actually see, though, so I doubt it has impacted the fb poll remotely. You can tell on the zoomed-in photos they showed in the livestream, but not really on the full-body screens used in the poll. This is partially why some people are accusing BW of deception.

Same bone/face structure, but different eye/face textures and a slight red tone (could be optical because of the freckles).  It does bring up the question why Jet Black haired Shep for example, didn't get a darker skin tone and green eyes to make her look cooler etc., since a black haired/darker skin toned Shep got second place in the first poll not counting Femshep 6 as well.


Edit: Eye shape seems to be the same.  I think it's another optical illusion because the green eyes are bolder than the blue ones, drawing attention away from the eye shape to the actual roundness of the eye.

Reposting for your benefit. Here is a zoom-in using the images from the facebook poll. Can you tell which eyes are 'blue' and which one is 'green'? Also can you point out the eye shape difference?

To be fair, the low-res pictures that we have now are poor basis for comparison of the finer details, so it can't really be said for certain that the redhead has a slightly different eye shape than the rest. Not to mention that the models we see in the promo material won't be 100% how they'd look in the game (case in point, Sheploo in-game and Sheploo in the posters). Redhead most definitely has freckles though.

The point being, though, that you can't say that those details are affecting the vote in any significant way, because it's literally impossible to see those supposed differences using the facebook images - the images that a majority the voters are seeing.

But actually if you want to check the high-res images earlier in this thread, there is no eye shape difference. The faces are exactly the same except red shep had green eyes and freckles.  The green eyes (as you can see from the images I posted) are quite impossible to see on facebook. The freckles you can see, but they appear at best as a smudge. I never would have known those were freckles if someone hadn't posted the high-res version in this thread.

If you can't see the difference, it is completely immaterial if they are slightly different or not, for people couldn't know the difference. This was one of my perks with them, by having so low res in her face. But I guess they are still working on her and didn't to show too much lack of detail in high res versions.

A much as I am loathe to come back into this topic I feel I should point something out here.  Those that are saying "you can't see the differences" are kinda missing something here.  For a starters I can see the difference I can clearly see that Red haired femshep does NOT have a mole (yes that would affect votes). 

So lets play this through shall we, I think we are all in agreement that Femshep 5 a long haired, pale skinned, blue eyed, mole ridden FemShep WON the first vote right ?  There is no question there, the only question was over "hair colour" right ?

So we have a second vote to determine hair colour ONLY using the winner of poll 1.  Now Bioware has given red haired femshep a unique look, one we DID NOT VOTE FOR.  So lets say for arguements sake that the differences cannot be seen.  That means those that are voting for the red haired femshep are voting for FemShep 5 + red hair are they not ?

What this means if/when red haired femshep wins is this.  The winning femshep was a long haired, blue eyed, mole ridden, pale faced femshep with red hair.  What we will get is a long haired, GREEN EYED, FRECKLE ridden, pale faced femshep with red hair.

Now how the hell can anyone say this is a complete and fair vote when what we get is not what we voted for ?  It seems to me that people voted femshep 5 + redhair but that isn't what they are going to get.  They are going to get Femshep 2 (which came second to last) and redhair.

I am sorry are you saying that red haired people don't have blue eyes ? It doesn't matter if it makes sense or not that is what we voted for, FemShep 5 WON end of story the only question was regarding hair colour which was the purpose of the second vote.  So since so many in here insist that the differences "cannot be seen" that means people are voting for Femshep 5 + the red hair colour.

Usually red haired people come with freckles. Perhaps you never noticed it.
