Thing is, if the hair style is way more prominent than the freckles, then we are actually seeing femshep 5 with a different hair color + freckles. If the freckles were that important, then yes, we would be seeing fem 2 with a different hair style.

In real life, I would have agreed with you, because it is far easier to change hair style than the freckles. But not in Mass Effect mechanics it isn't. People know that when they vote for these women, they are essentially voting for their hair styles, because that was the most prominent feature. Freckles are waaaaay down below the list.

Ok clearly you failed to understand what I meant because this reply is completely out of context.

On that final question you had:

Whether YOU see it or not is not the problem.  The problem is people are being misled, people think they are voting for FemShep 5 + Red Hair.  That isn't what is happening, Bioware are fooling people into voting for FemShep 2 + Long red hair.

If this vote is supposed to be us choosing our femshep then it is pretty clear femshep should be Femshep 5 with red hair and NOT femshep 2 + red hair which is what is happening because people are being misled.

Just because you don't consider freckles important doesn't mean everyone doesn't.  The thing here is that people are claiming they cannot see the freckles and if that is the case then they are not being able to cast their vote appropriately.  Most people are ASSUMING that all 4 femsheps are identical the only difference is the hair colour, that is of course false and makes a mockery of the poll.

I cared about facial structure and hair colour equally, once I realised the facial structures weren't all identical like Facebook led me to believe initially. For what it's worth. Honestly, the green eye/red hair thing is overdone, it's a trope after all. But the original Jane Shepard was green eyes/red haired so.. what can ya do.

No my reply wasn't out of context you are just trying to paint it as such.  You keep banging on about how people cannot see the differences.  Then if that is the case and you are saying that people cannot see a difference then that means they think that all FOUR femsheps look like FemShep 5.  So they are voting for FemShep 5 plus the red hair colour (you won't even admit that).

Yes they are voting for FemShep 5 plus red hair. And that's what they'll get. I showed her the high res photos too durr. And shocker: she didn't pick up on the differences even then. People will be getting what they see in the high res photos. Grats on missing that part in my initial post.

I am just totally blown away with all of this. In the first place I was so happy when I found a game that had a female character. I was thrilled that we could change her looks. I was so really hyped up when BioWare decided to market that a female was available to play in their games. Dummy me just assumed that they would make default Jane look better for her appearance in the media spotlight. Then came the polls. That was a nice idea but...... it's turned into a three ring circus. I will be glad when it is finally over with. I wonder if we will have a run off between original Jane
( made in HR) and the new one?

You are basing that on what exactly ?  Since in Bioware's eyes people are voting for femshep 2 with red hair.

Yeah good for her, tell me did freckle faced femshep win ?  Nope she didn't she came quite literally dead last.  The winner was femshep 5.  It doesn't matter if in real life red heads have freckles what matters is we did not vote for freckles.

Thing is, if you wanted blue eyes/red hair (and thought thats what you voted for on Facebook) your SOL, basically. Because the high-res shot proves this is a false representation.

And I can't be the only person around here who made that mistake. Not everyone on Facebook has seen those high-res pictures, they are not all BSN posters that read this thread.

Quite frankly, if I were Bioware, I would have either a.) had no vote at all and just touched up the original default with higher res textures for the trailer or b.) had a single vote similar to the one done on Facebook but have stricter control on how many votes each user was allowed to have and would have presented high-res pictures from the start.

But that's just me. Instead, this is what we have to deal with.

And to add insult to injury, not only do they make it, but they make it wrong.

If #5 won, why modify the face again? After all, 30.000+ people voted for her. If you decide it was unfair to not give more hair color options BW, that I can agree with, but putting a different face it's not fair.

Next will be a third poll for choosing eye color, and a fourth for freckles. *facepalm*

Whatever, I don't really care who wins I casted my vote but I don't like the way Bioware is handling this.

Well of course but I wouldn't tell that to a artificial insemination (sorry if these aren't the correct words) customer that asked you she wanted her child to have blue eyes and brown (or another color) hair and you instead give her a red hair child with freckles and green eyes.

I don't think she would be very happy, because that's not what she did ask or want.

And besides BW did this second poll in theory to "please the fans" since many people asked for hair change.

Isn't changing the face contradictory? The fans want #5 with color change. But people already voted for #5 on round 1 because they liked the face and some people only wanted a hair color change. Putting another face (#2 in this case) with #5 hair recolored it's not being fair to the winner.

EDIT: Now that I remember,I think Bioware is being biased because Jennifer Hale said she liked #2, so they put that face to please her. Because there's no other logical explanation, due to the fact that #2 was not one of the most voted ones. If they'd have decided to put another "finalist" for a second chance it would have been #3 or #4 or even #1, but not #2, since I believe it was the second one least voted..

Because having a child is the same significance as a video game poll for sure. Not to mention all parents are absolutely that superficial and won't love their child if they don't have said eye colour and hair colour. >_>
