@Balek-Vriege- Wow.
All of the whiners who are STILL whining (you know who you are) I just want to tell you right here and now.
DEAL WITH IT
I mean seriously, you guys are making me glad your choice didn't win because you're so annoying. Who goes on and on about the "integrity" of a Facebook poll? Why do you feel so entitled that Bioware has to tell you everything they do in their marketing campaign and make sure it's "fair" in your eyes?
They are simply trying to get the FemShep that most fans want, and guess what? They found it whether you like it or not or whether you think it's fair or not. I really don't think Bioware cares if you personally find the polls fair, they're just polls. For a haircolor. Of a videogame character. This is not the Presidential election.
The dedication of some people to naming any reason to call this poll unfair or calling anyone who disagrees with them trolls? I find it a little disturbing I have to say!
You have to admit though that a lot of the complaints were originally resonable and simple. That this might not be entirely fair to people who voted for an option in Poll 1 and won. They weren't attacking Red Hair Shep directly, they weren't making personal attacks on others, they just had a fair complaint.
That was met with a lot of condescending replies/personal attacks (hinting the people are losers) which made the argument that they had
no point, had
no basis to complain about the process, were being whiners/children because they were doing so and should just "Deal with it," because the "Deal with it" sigs that Blondes Shep people made in the face of major stereotyping hurt their feelings originally.
Those type of replies drive people to further explain their point or attack in kind. If you keep ignoring valid examples to prove a point is
at least valid, those examples will get more complex and detailed until they break down or are further proved. Or they turn into a series of personal attacks since both people involve end of being fed up with what the other is saying. So in part the extreme passion on one side is fueled by an extreme resistance to a fairly basic point. The same way if somone in a serious discussion kept arguing it's possible to a negative numbers, but someone denies all the proof handed to them regardless. Therefore in a way, sopme people calling others whiners are truly the immature ones in this and are partly to blame for how extreme this thread is. Instead of making the point against their claims, they attack those people instead.
With my post, I didn't know what the outcome of those % would be (I only knew the base statistics of the real polls and put em into the post at the beginning). It was a real possibility that my assumptions wouldn't add up to something even close to poll 2. However, they did and were within 1%-3% margins. Not only that, it showed that it's possible, without even taking in to account bad press for blondes etc. (and other more complicated unprovable assumptions), that the people who wanted another hair colour who voted for Femshep 5 could have actually been a minority in that first vote. I didn't expect that and that calls into question the fact that Bioware could have overriden the will of 50%+ of the Blonde Shep vote with this new poll.
It also shows, which was fairly pointed out, that the first poll had problems with it as well possibly. It was designed poorly if it were a poll to choose the Femshep the vast majority wanted, rather than one with most votes wins.
Now you're right. In the grand scheme of things this vote is nothing. There's nothing forcing you even to post how everyone is whiners etc except your passion for the issue no matter if you say otherwise. If anything though, it's good mental exercise at the very least.
