Forgive me, but the "other peoples' entertainment" portion of your argument is, imo, totally absurd. People do not play multiplayer games for the purpose of entertaining others. Co-operative play is, by it's very nature, meant to enhance the gaming experience by allowing people to work toward a common goal with their friends. Also, more and more games ratchet up the difficulty during co-op play to offer a consistently challenging experience, regardless of the number of players.
No no, you're confusing my argument. I recognize that multiplayer is intended to increase the
buyer's enjoyment of the game. However, I don't enjoy multiplayer. In that sense, it's useless to me. The "other people's entertainment" means that I personally don't need to consider all the different players who want or will enjoy multiplayer in the game. I don't have to support multiplayer because 10+ people will gain greater enjoyment from it. In this case, I have to consider that by including multiplayer there is a possibility that less resources go to the single player campaign, which is what I'm interested in.
If you preffer playing games solo, just say so. Admitting to having a selfish viewpoint doesn't add any more validity to your argument though.

I do prefer solo and have said so. Being selfish doesn't make my argument more valid. It simply means that it's not my responsibility to take into account what would benefit the majority of players. I can argue for what I want/don't want from Mass Effect 3. And any other player can do the same, which is their right. I don't want multiplayer. All those other players can express their desire for it. By all of us expressing our desires, Bioware can decide if the feature is worth it.
