Those Shepards where hardly black. They were most likely mixed or a hispanic ethnicity. If it's so far in the future...why are there still pale redheads but not dark african Americans?

She's black dude. Maybe she has some hispanic mixed with her, but she's still considered black. Straight hair doesn't matter.

Just stop. Support black shepard or don't.

As a black man, I support diversity in gaming. BW is one of the best places to find it. As a BW fan, I DON'T support claims that Bioware is racist, white media, sexist, or homophobic. 

This thread's only purpose seems to be bashing BW for not having another black girl in the contest. Guess  what? I voted for number four (mostly for the hairstyle). She lost. I got over it.

This is a thread to get black shepard recognized....and then you come in and think you have something to prove. You just sound ridiculous.

We have a "Support Commander Shepard" thread in place already. There are a multitude of different Shepards in there already. Why not close this thread, and post your support for ethnic Shepard in there? We don't need a segragated thread for "blacks only".

Now that I see is going to be fun watching. Then we'll get six fingered people to make a six fingered Shep on cover...Ppl, it's just marketing, you can play as black Shep your rights are not violated. They won't change marketing policy because of one precident with femShep.

Argument is 100% valid. That's why we have only one thread for ALL Shepards to come together. Segragating the races doesn't solve anything.

I like this idea. It would also market the game as allowing player to be the Shep they want to be. Not many single player games these days allow player to custmize thier protagnist in both looks and personality.

Represented in what?

In Africa they're represented quite highly. What with them being predominantly black people.

The West consists of predominantly white people and so their media/entertainment reflects that.

Why should they be represented as much? Seeing as how black people represent about 10% of the population in the west, a "fair" representation would be 10%. Not 50%.

The whole premise of this thread is ridiculous.

I know, let's go to African or Asian forums and complain that white people aren't represented as much as they are in their movies and games.

Can't tell if trolling. In any case, I don't care what color your shepard is. It's not exactly relevant in the game, anyway.
