I heard something about the dalish keepers being descended from ancient elven nobles.
So if the dalish warden's father was the keeper before Marethari does this mean he is descended from them as well?
Also I heard a rumor that in origins Merrill said something indicating she and the male dalish warden were interested in each other, but I have never gotten those lines from her, so that's rubbish right?

If I recall correctly, the Dalish overall are descended from the nobles of the Dales. I'm not sure if the Keepers have any additional claim to a heritage, although I imagine having magic is a status symbol.

I just looked through Merrill's lines on the PC in the toolkit and did not see anything that was a reply to an obvious flirt. She expresses concern about the Dalish Warden and his/her illness at a few points; I suppose if you were inclined, you could read some romantic interest into it but I don't think it's explicit.

I do recall something about the keeper bloodlines being kept carefully- it might be in some of Lanaya's dialogue, since she was outside that circle. So yes, that would include the Dalish PC's father. One reason I've usually played my Mahariel characters as having a kind of quiet nobility and political savvy. I like to think it's in the blood.

Lanaya: "I am not a keeper, I am Zathrian's first. Though because I was not born into the clan, becoming his first was very difficult. We Dalish have old traditions. The clans come from the ranks of the nobility that once ruled the Dales, you see. The keepers of those clans have the strongest and purest blood that reaches back to the days of Arlathan. I had to compete against the other candidates for first, to be better than them in everything simply because I was not of the old blood."

That's the dialogue I was thinking of, thank you!

She was friends with Mahariel(Dalish Warden) and expresses concern for them in DA2. This only appears if you import a Dalish Warden game otherwise she talks of Tamlen instead.

Being Outcast from the Tribe is a huge thing for the Dalish. This happened to the Dalish Warden and to her in DA2 and how she relates to it and how Mahariel must have felt. (To the Dalish their Tribe is everything, its their home and family)
