i hope they have some cool fighters to launch from those carriers.
One of the side missions in ME2 (might be an N7 mission) has SA fighters in a hangar you can walk right up to and look at

actually the ME wiki has a picture:

kind of looks like a cross between an A-Wing from Star Wars and a Viper from BSG. Looks fast.

But you're telling me they don't name carriers after great generals or admirals? Where is my 22nd century Nimitz class?

Generals and Admirals could probably be considered under the "great leader" qualifier for having a carrier named after you.ReconTeam wrote...
Sure.

We don't have enough carriers for all our great leaders, artists, and intellectuals. We should build more.

If they named them after generals and admirals, the member nations would complain only American and British generals and admirals were used.
Yet no one complains about the frigates being called "SSV Where My Ancestors Were Slaughtered"

Even if Earth didn't have a body of water bigger than a lake I reckon we would have figured it out. The concept of docking a spaceship on an orbital platform came pretty quickly to us - it's basically necessary if you want to construct and maintain said orbital platform, as is docking ships on to other ships.
So I can't see how the idea "let's build a huge ship that lot's of others can dock on, and then have that ship travel along with the fleet to different warzones" escaped the Turians and the Asari.

I like to think that the Asari and Turians tried Carriers during the Rachni wars or Krogan rebellions and realised they didn't work very well.
@Humanoid_Typhoon That was my point. For a multinational organisation, ships named after battles seems like a needless source of controversy.

Hey, I didn't find the mention, but it's more than confirmed that we will be in some kind of carrier, except if battleships also harbor ships inside of them. The usual "Star Wars" hangar bay lookalike has been shown in bioware tv for some time ago.

Looks like a big ship...
