Ok, so I'm starting a new game for the 10,000th time and Imoen rescues PC. So I get to thinking that I know Imoen can't die in the dungeon because then the story is ****ed. And I know Bioware made her unkillable by giving her the belt... So, what would happen if PC (and any other party members) just hung back near the cells (and by the portal on the second floor) while Imoen solos the dungeon with her mighty +1 daggar? Cheese factor aside, would that work? Anyone ever try it?
Imoen the tank?!?

Unfortunately, it prevents her from dying yet, but the key issue is she ports out of the dungeon via script. So you lose her until you leave the dungeon, then again after the cut scene. If you can manage to solo her through without causing her auto port script triggering then go ahead and try.

Sorry, but I don't understand. If she is in the party and the rest of the party just stays back out of harm's way, what is going to make her port script fire? I'm not talking about doing the whole game this way, just the dungeon. Once she kills the hiding theives near the stairs out, then the whole party goes to the exit together and the script activates and you see the destruction of the Promenade...

If Imoen is damaged enough that she would normally die she teleports straight to the surface, so that she is no longer available to do dungeon clearance for you, i.e. this is an additional teleport by script to the normal one you see after exiting the dungeon.

There was an exploit that made using her this way possible, but I think the Fixpack fixed that.
It was something to do with hurting her so bad she wanted to leave but then talking to her before she could (I think). Never did it myself though.

Ah, I see. I didn't realize reduction to (near) 0 hp would cause her to teleport out.

Her belt is the minhp item. If you cheat it onto your character with an editor it makes you immune to pretty much everything except for death by ability drain.
Anyway, if her health goes below 0 hp the belt prevents her from dying and her script triggers. I believe that in the original game she had to see a party member to initiate the dialogue before teleporting away.
In my second run I used Imoen as a bit of a tank because I did not want to keep healing my protagonist and I already knew she would not die.
I use the belt (or any other minhp item) to test AI battle scripts sometimes.

WOW! Had no clue about the Imoen belt thing.
Ironically, I was teaching my 10-year old son to play the other day and Imoen got killed. I wondered how the game would play out but he kept charging on and got through the dungeon.
Then they exited the dungeon to the Promenade and...
...surprise, surprise, there's Imoen telling Irenicus where to get off.
Now I know how. Okay, well I've learned my one thing for the day. Time for a cold one.
