Playing through v1.0 I noticed in the post-campaign save that suddenly Bodahn's Goods were accessible through the Hawke Estate. The nature of this occurance and since in DA:O you always had access to his store in the camp made me believe that this was a bug of some sort, seeing how you got access to the enchantment apparatus throughout the whole game.

Playing through v1.03 now and I noticed that this is still the case, with his store gone from the Estate until you hit the post-campaign save.

Is this intended or is it a bug? Because I'd really hate to keep on going between loading screens simply to save all stuff I've collected in my storage, and a store in the Estate would just be natural seeing how Bodahn promised to provide his services to you.

Anyone know if there's any mod that "fixes" this problem, intended or not?

I think the limited access to Bodahn-the-store is intentional. Once he comes to work for you, he is there are your butler/footman/personal assistant (with Sandal as your enchanter-about-town). But you have free reign all over Kirkwall to access vendors and merchants.

The post campaign save is a launching point for DLCs, so Kirkwall is no longer accessible. To allow you to handle inventory matters, the Bodahn store is reopened. So I think it's all just set up to ensure you can buy/sell goods at one location when the other locations are grayed out.

I am not aware of any mod to change this though.

Perhaps you're right... It's just that it's really annoying the way it is currently designed, as it appears to be a bug at first. And making the players belief that they just played through a whole 30+ hours game with such a basic, but clearly time-wasting, "bug", is really not good. I swore more than once when I spotted the store and questioned whether I'd been blind the whole time or the game was broken. Needless to say I opted for the latter when I revisited a previous save.

I'm somewhat sad that you don't know of any mods though... Hopefully someone will address it soon enough.

I'm thinking about how I might be able to accomplish this.

No promises, and I've got a lot on my plate, but this is on my mind.

Bodahn comes to work for you because he lost everything in the Deep Roads expedition and therefore has no other way to "pay you back". Given that, I strongly suspect that the lack of store is by design. If he still had inventory, he would simply give you goods or offer a discount as payment. He gets all of his new goods by scavenging, and he certainly isn't going on any expeditions while he is at your estate.
