-SPOILERS- New Normandy SR2 is an Alliance ship to the core? (From Gamescom)

Looks like the crew of the Normandy are Alliance soldiers. That's pretty interesting, I think. The fact that not only the Normandy is refitted but also has an active crew could be important. For all we know, Ashley or Kaiden were to be using that ship to fulfill their Spectre duties.

...So if our new crew are Alliance soliders, what happened to our old crew? Like Gardner, Donnelly and Gabriella?

What? Doubtfult that the crew will be wearing Alliance uniforms?LilyasAvalon wrote...
While that sounds like a cool feature, and I approve of it, it sounds doubtful it'll be incorporated into the game.
...how?

No, no, no. Active crew. You know, crew that actually moves around the ship and does things instead of sit in one spot the entire game.Phaedon wrote...

There is a particular piece of footage from Gamescom, where Shepard (wearing armour) walks through the CIC of the Normandy, past a crewman holding a datapad and wearing an Alliance uniform, looks up to the camera and says in german, "I'm Commander Shepard and this is my favorite booth at Gamescom."

Not really surprised, it's quite interesting what it entails thoughRobhuzz wrote...
Well you couldn't seriously be surprised about this. The Alliance repossessing a Cerberus ship and leaving the Cerberus crew to serve on it would be rather weird.
Shepard is court martialed, I very much doubt that they repurposed the ship and assigned an active crew to it just for him. There is a plotpoint behind this.

Unless someone was recording that specific part, you'll have to go to the BioWare TV, and hope that they have the footage before the conference saved.TMA LIVE wrote...

If the Normandy's is full Alliance, I wonder what this will mean to the current SR2 crew - being as their Cerberus. I have a feeling most (if not all) will still be there only now left Ceberus to join (or in some cases rejoin) the Alliance purely because of Shepard. From what I remember the likes of Joker, Chakwas and the engineers aren't exactly the Alliance's #1 fans after how they and Shep was treated after he/she died.

Joker will be back, that we know. And there is probably a plotpoint behind this too.Candidate 88766 wrote...
I wonder what that means for the Cerberus crew. Even Joker and Chakwas were with Cerberus, and working with Cerberus is kind of frowned upon. Hopefully they'll be let off like Shepard.
In fact.
I think that Anderson refers to him as "Lieutenant" in the ending of the Earth level. Casey himself says that "Joker is probably in there"

Joker is confirmed to be the pilot of the SR-2 Alliance version with EDI by his side. Maybe the Alliance is open to the fact they joined/left Cerberus soley because of Shepard?Candidate 88766 wrote...

They can most certainly try. They took my beautiful Cerberus paintjob and my crew, so my Shepard's fuse will be on the short side by the we finally get the Normandy back...Phaedon wrote...

I wouldn't be surprised if the Normandy was used for Ash/Kaidan's spectre goodies either.

Some of us were noticing awhile back, for example, that it sort of looks like Garrus has an Alliance-coloured uniform under his armour. That could mean anything really, but the colours and the collar seemed to fit with what we've seen Anderson and other officers wearing before.
It would make sense that the rest of the Normandy crew would be decked out in Alliance colours/uniforms now.
As for the Cerberus crew, many of them were formerly Alliance before joining Cerberus so maybe Shepard has convinced the Alliance to keep them onboard still.

I hope they explain things a bit, but I'm willing to let it slide. Joker is awesome after all.
As long as EDI is there too then I'll be content.

It'd be somewhat fun to have to choose just how loyal your Shepard is to the Cerberus crew. Would he try to save them while the Earth is under attack, or would he start immediately on the trail of stopping the Reapers?
I'm not shocked by this reveal at all. I'm more surprised by the fact that Joker would be piloting the Normandy. Then again, they could just as easily have saved him first, or sprung him. I can't wait for this subject to be brought up in game. I'm hoping it's dealt with well in there.
