I am a bit worried about SWTOR though. I know we've not seen much of raiding but have we seen any interesting boss mechanics yet?
Still, I have faith, and my TOR CE pre-order's already registered. I'll probably try GW2 just to see how it plays but I don't like playing more than one MMO at a time, and I'm anticipating playing TOR for a long time.

TOR = pay $50 for one month access, $75 for two month access, $90 for three month access, $105 for four month access, etc.

I would add, however: "Oh, that item looks cool, how can I get that? Oh, right. Let me just get out my credit card.."

Nice and relevant, there..

But that's for F2P games Guild Wars 1 was nothing like that. You just buy it and that's it. GW2 is continuing that isn't it?
Bu I get it. It's why I'll never play F2P games.

Yes yes it's an MMO not a single player game like Skyrim. So you can't compare. Very different how you play and MMO requires upkeep and maintenance. A single player game does not.

I was going off http://wiki.guildwar...uild_Wars_2/FAQ, which says micro-transactions.
Yea but that says cosmetic things so I could care less. Now if it was like say Lord of the Rings Online or Everquest 2 than I wouldn't give the game a chance.

Idk which one is better as long as WoW's iron grip on MMORPG is destroyed when these two games release. Nothing like a good competitor to keep your game up. If WoW survives this, I'll be pretty disappointed with Bioware and ArenaNet.

And that's why I love GW. No subscription. Sure you can buy items but that's optional. The only thing you would really need to buy out of necessity is character slots when you fill up the ones you start with.

I'd rather pay a subscription and know I have access to everything the game has to offer, either way. Not sure what I'd do with £10 a month that's worth more than so many hours entertainment, anyway.Ringo12 wrote...

Like I said before SWTOR is going to fail.
As for the killing-off-WoW comments, that's pretty stupid. Neither MMO is trying to "kill off WoW" this is not another Age of Conan or Warhammer: AoK, guys.

I agree, on the WoW killing part, nothing can kill WoW, only WoW can, which is what it's starting to do, just look how lazy Blizzard are, it took them 7 months just to release the first major content patch, also calling patch 4.1 a major one while it's just recycling the same old dungeons it had before.
But I can't agree on SWTOR failing, sure I don't like it, but I've never gotten a chance to play it so I can't really judge it.

wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Store
Look under the 'Upgrades' heading and you'll see how useless the majority of these microtransactions are. Most are costumes which obscure your armour anyway (I never bought any for this reason). Most of the other packs are simply easy ways of achieving things that you can do in-game anyway (unlocking skills and pets).
