 ~ lvl 15, 38 strength.

There you go. Confirmed while watching a live stream.

EDIT : This is for the chest piece anyway.

DA:O has minimum level requirements on items? In a single player game? WTF?

Damn, looks like only my warrior will be wearing that.  Ah well. ^_^

I take it you don't play many single player games then?   Well, at least many single player RPG games anyway.

What are you talking about? NWN had this component for MPer. IIRC a couple of the FF games may have had this. I'm generally not a console gamer, so I don't know how the new, leet Phantasy Star works.  I can't think of any other SPer PC RPGs that do this.

It's a story-based single player game, designed to be easily moddable. If the author doesn't want the player to have an item, then just don't give it to them - or if the player wants it, they'll give it to themself. Even if it's a little imba, who cares - it's a story-driven game. The notion that your character in a story can't pick up a sword until they've reached an arbitrary experience limit that's not directly related to the story is kinda wonky.

Anyone know if you can turn this off (like the nwnplayer.ini toggle)?

Hmm, you're right, for some reason I was thinking Diablo 2. <_<

Though I have seen it, rarely, but for the moment memory fails me.  There have been single player RPGs with stat requirment gear, like KotOR.  Which works out to be the same thing, since most of the time stats can't be reached without higher levels anyway.

Stat requirements totally make sense. You wanna swing 25 lbs of metal around your head, then you have to have a certain strength... whatever. I just don't get level requirements.

Arthur has to get the blessing of the lady in the lake before he can wield Excalibur: cool. Arthur has to be level 12: dumb.

I don't get an armor set bonus when I have all four pieces:( And only the body armor has any bonus stats. That was very disappointing. But it looks cool, too bad I can't wear it myself. Sten is the lucky owner.

There isn't a level requirement.

I made a new game and used the console commands to spam up strength and could put on the armor. I certainly wasn't level 15 in the starting elven alienage.

Assuming, of course, you aren't meaning for Mass Effect 2.

Like Kelston said, theres no Lvl requirement for the Blood Dragon Armour. Just put everything on Str and you can use the whole armour when you reach the requirered str. But you might need gold to buy the rest of the armour. ^^

Here's a nice little exploit if you're short on gold, provided you have the DLC. This is preferably done early in the game as if I am correct, disabling the DLC after you've obtained the rest of the set will make it all dissapear. (Although you could probably rebuy it from the camp).

1- Walk up to a vendor with the Blood Dragon Armor DLC activated and sell your Blood Dragon Plate. (7g65s)
2- Save game and exit to main menu.
3- Go to Downloadable Content in the main menu and deactivate said DLC.
4- Resume your game, Force Load when asked.
5- Save your game again and exit to main menu once more.
6- Reactivate the DLC in Downloadable content and resume your game.
7- You are now the proud owner of a 2nd Blood Dragon Plate.

You can repeat this as many times as you would like to.

Since patching the armor to V1.1, the plate stats changed to just +6 defense and +30 health although the original stats were +3 strength, +3 willpower +3 armor +50 health -10% fatigue. What gives! It happened to my new character and I don't like it!

I just found out that the stats for ps3 got nerfed in a patch or something.   I wish I had known this because I would have made sure to keep off line to avoid it, lol.  The only reason I made an archane warrior was so I could use that set on my mage :?
There goes 7 hours of game play out the window

I found an interesting exploit? Cheat? I created a new character and wanted to see if the Redistrute Points during level up cheat actual worked. And what the heck for the fun of it. I created a Mage character and took points away from the strength and put it where ever. I ended up with the Strength showing a -3.

The interesting thing is when I went to equip the mage even though the armor said I needed strength 38 I was able to equip it. So there I was with a level 1 mage wearing the Blood Dragon Armor.

My character Quinn is a mage and she wears the Blood Dragon Armor and wields a two-handed Starfang. Yay for Arcane Warriors. :)
