Don't forget that Bethany is a mage and Carver is a warrior, even though they're unavailable for most of the game.  That's probably why Sebastian is a rogue and not a templar.  People would then be saying how there would be too many mages or warriors and only two rogues.

And I bet that's the reason Sebastian was cut from the game and left for DLC (he's just Varric, with a pretty mouth).

Fan favourite Oghren returns!

Considering how scary Bodhan looks in DA2 compared to Origins, I'm not sure if I want to see a DA2 version of Oghren.  If he does, then he needs to get his beard back from Bartrand.

The only halfway decent reason to buy this pack is if there is a good amount of interesting lore that comes with the items. The last item pack already gave us enough borderline overpowered items to make the game easy.

i mean whats the point of more item packs, i like them but how much more could be done with more weapons and armor. only exception is a 2h sword that levels up, mace or long sword. i guess its not any different than having a bunch of addon dlcs with a few new items. at some point alot of weapons and armor would not be used(unless you like the looks of some) but much from what i hear the stuff you get from Legacy are hardly useful after act1.(i guess more-so after the end game) but i am curious on what they will look like

Wouldn't that mean there are now too many rogues for the overwhelming majority of the game? Perhaps Sebastian was always intended for DLC, and as a hook for a possible Starkhaven expansion.

I find his mouth distracting. It's small in a....puckered way, or something. Small and weird. The overall package is hot, but nevermind.

I wouldn't mind these item packs going to DAO, because there the companions could use them (with obvious stat differences since the games give different types of bonuses).

Hopefully they have more stuff that levels up with the player (maybe an armor set for each class).

Didn't you say that The Witcher 2's DLC didn't warrant a price? But Dragon Age 2's item packs do?

I loved the first item pack, but I still hate the fact that 2/3 of the armor you receive is worthless on every play-through.

Feel better. If you play with high-resolution textures on the PC, 3/3 of the armor is worthless on every playthrough. :(

But...

Warrior Hawke
Avaline
Fenris
+ 2/3 Mages (Anders, Bethany, Merrill) +3 Rogues (Isabela, Sebastian, Varric)

Mage Hawke
Anders
Merrill
+2/3 Warriors: (Avaline, Carver, Fenris) + 3 Rogues (Isabela, Sebastian, Varric)

Rogue Hawke
Varric
Isabela
Sebastian
+ 2/3 Mages (Anders, Bethany, Merrill) + 2 Warriors (Avaline, Fenris)

There're just more rogues, at least as many (and for more of the game) than any other class and potentially more if Hawke is also a rogue.

You know … there was a thread down in the Origins forum not long ago where Mr. Woo posed the question of "What were your favourite items from Origins?" Maybe that has something to do with this item pack.

Sebastian doesn't really count toward class balance because he is a DLC character.

If it comes with companion armour I might be interested. Otherwise I'm not shelling out more cash for stuff that only Hawke can wear, especially since I've already got the first item pack and 2/3s of it always remains in storage.

Pretty sure he was saying that in a sardonic/jocular manner lol.

Anyway, I'll buy it, but not sure how I feel about it from the screenshot I saw. And not so sure why there seems to be a volus in there. Posted Image

I'll probalby buy it because I loved the look of the first mage armor in the last pack. It's probably a good thing they didn't make it evolving, or I'd wear it throughout the whole game and ignore all other armors.

Kinda wish mages could use more than just staffs, though. Daggers or short swords would be cool.

I agree. It's kind of not fair that only Hawke gets to wear all of the cool armor & robes while everyone else is left out in the cold. Customizing your partys outfits was one of the cool things about Origins that Bioware dropped the ball on in DA2. All will be forgiven however, (And I would personally pay top dollar to see) if they realease an item pack that includes Isabela in a "spicy" outfit with different stats & bonuses then her normal & romance threads.

For me, it just feels odd coming across all of this armor for the other classes and thinking about how that piece of armor would look on one of my companions, but they can't wear it. If Hawke can't wear something, then it becomes vendor/storage trash.

Fenris, in particular, would look nice in a suit of black massive armor, rather than the tights he fights in.

Uh, Fenris can't even stand straight with the jumpsuit, how do you expect him to even be able to stay standing with massive plate armor? I also think heavy plate would probably impede his fisting ability.

Fenris is an elf. I doubt the best blacksmiths in Thedas would make massive armor to fit someone with that slight of a build. This isn't DAO/DAA, and Master Wade isn't among us. The best you can hope for is a smith named "Smith" that sells pickaxes.

Oh dear me. I do understand the first part of your post and i thoroughly agree. Though it might make gearing them a bit time consuming/boring. (had enough of that on a certain mmo i was hooked on) As for Fenris , elves rely on their lithe bodies and quick mind to protect them. These attributes are what defines elves. If anyone dears put heavy armor on him i would encourage him to pawn them for gold . I think he would agree wholeheartedly!

Still, a warrior doesn't look quite right wearing a skin-tight outfit. Fenris is the "dark knight" character of the group and he's running around in tights, rather than something more intimidating.

With the excess gear, I'd just like to make use of it, and many pieces would help make my companions more effective, if they could just wear it. I don't care if it changes their appearance at all; I just hate seeing useful equipment become vendor trash just because Hawke's class can't wear it, or he recently upgraded to something else.
