I think I'm in the minority in that I prefer squadmembers having unique armor.
You're actually not in the minority. I did a poll on this and the community had roughly an even split. It's just that one side is more vocal than the other.
The people who dont relly care are always less vocal. lol
I personally like the unique looks of squadmates specially the "unarmored" ones and want light armor for shep. but I wont make a topic demanding it because I dont play Mass Effect to play dress up, I play for the awesome story.

And I can't enjoy the 'awesome story' if I can't take my companions (and only my companions) seriously because they're prancing around in catsuits and heels whilst everyone else is in proper armour.Spanky Magoo wrote...

And thats too bad for you, ( I enjoyed ME2 alot ) infact its my favorite game at the moment. I see where the "I NEEDZ MAH ARMORS" are coming from but I find armor quite, well to put it bluntly dumb. And I know we wont agree but I like what I like and thats unarmored unique squad outfits ( like Thane and Miranda ) with an alt skin or two vs bulky useless armor in a game with shields and stuff. I feel sorry for you if your squad wearing something you dont agree with ruins the story for you. But any way thats my two cents.

The armor is the main gear for anyone in combat. It holds the medigel dispensers, it holds the shield battery (which is partially why they are bulky to begin with), it is also a self contained space suit, and comes with zero g capability. (Magnetic boots, air, helmet camera, hardsuit computers)
I would gladly take armor for my squadmates over a catsuit any day, sure breasts and bare chests are nice and all, but I would rather admire that outside of combat where I am actually paying attention to it.

Well it is the future so I dont think my adept/infiltrator should look like a knight in a futuristic mid-eval times restaurant, simple as that.
I also don't think an infiltrator should wear hot pink, but it happens anyways.
It makes sense for infiltrators to wear less bulky armor i agree, but for people like ashley, miranda, jacob and to a lesser extent garrus should be wearin some proper gear you know what I mean?
Also, off topic but I just noticed legion has the nicest ass in the game. Just throwing that out there.

Not all armor is bulky, go look at the light armors from ME 1.

Im not opposed to all forms of armor, but I myself prefer a minimalist approach in the games I play. Its just a little thing of mine. I dont expect the heavy armor crowd to understand.

Maybe they could give us the old iconic costumes for every character in addition to two or three costumes for ME3?
For example -- Garrus.
1. Turian Agent costume from ME1.
2. Turian Rebel (fixed) from ME2.
3. Turian Soldier armor for ME3 + alt armor + CE armor + alt appearance DLC?

Disappointing pretty disappointing..............
For me, I hated how the default armor was some of the weakest. Personally, it's what I liked the best out of all of them.

I know this puts me squarely in the minority, but I preferred the ME2/DA2 system. I would much rather have my squadmates have a unique personal appearance, as opposed to everyone wearing identical or near-identical armor. This is welcome news to me.
I have already stated the problem with DA2 with everyone having their own unique appearances. It was more noticeable in DA2 than in ME2. But I made the metaphor it's like average joy being put into the X Men.
I like customizng my party because than at least we do not have your main character looking out of place. This was more a problem in DA2 than ME2. Hawke's outfits were so blah and uninspiring for half the game, while his companions had dazzling outfits of pazzah.
I rather everyone have a "unique formity" to them, than their own individual styles because it ends in the end making the main character look less cool, imo.
