Im thinking about creating a duel-wielding rouge so that I can kill everything and get money and experience for lockpicking, disarming traps, and stealing right off the bat. I don't know what is better, human or elf (help me).
I want to have one mage character be part of my foursome (help me). Probably Morrigan since I won't need a healer if I choose the health poultice route. I need to figure out what kind of mage Morrigan will be. I think that she will get all the ice spells for sure... I don't know what I should choose next (help me).
Then I will probably choose Allister.
The last character I don't know who to choose (help me). If I'm gonna be splitting up my battles into two groups will I need another ranged attacker or is Morrigan good enough? Are archers worthwhile?
ideas/comments?
Help me choose my character and endgame foursome

if you're building a dual weild rogue i wouldn't waste talent slots on deft hands.

Well, seeing as there's only 2 mages to choose from, it's an easy pick. You want the old lady with useful spirit healer skills or the hot witch with pretty useless shapeshifting?
That being said, I've never had the old bag in my party for long, I just like Morrigan better, you can always give take spirit healer spec for her at level 14 and make do with poultices and the basic heal spell until then.
Honestly I'd recommend not choosing a ranged character, my frontline-fighter rogue teamed up with basically the first three NPCs I met, Alistair, Morrigan and the Dog and it was a great party setup.
If you do want ranged though, you could pick Leliana, but I'd rather suggest Wynne since Leliana's archery skills are boring and somewhat tricky to get the hang of, while Wynne is awesome healing and artillery support

I'd suggest:
Tank: Shale/Allistair
Rogue Dps: Yourself
Dps: Sten/dog/Oghren/Leliana/Zevhran/Morrigan
Mage/Healer: Wynne/Morrigan
As far as tanks go, Shale excels in controlling the battlefield with aoe stuns and aggro, and is easily pumped up to a health powerhouse. Allistair on the other hand is deadly against mages with his templar talents, and with added Champion talents can make a formidable tank as well.
As far as the second dps slot goes. Sten and Oghren are pretty similar, except Oghren starts with Berserker, and you can add Reaver or Champion to him later for added carnage. Sten only gets one spec which means you have too choose more carefully. But he's still a good option.
Leliana or Zevhran can be good options if you don't want deft hands on your own rogue. Leliana starts off as a archer/bard while Zevhran starts as Rogue/Assassin. Adding Ranger to Leliana and having her continue her archer line can make for some good ranged crowd control once they fix the dex issue, quite decent dps. Zevhran is more of a dual wield guy and with added duelist he can tear enemies apart from behind. And given his disposition towards any sex I see why he prefers doing it from behind.
Morrigan should only be put here if you also have Wynne with you. You can spec her as you see fit, but you might want to consider Spirit healer if you don't have Wynne. Otherwise Waking Nightmare, Crushing Prison, Mana Clash, Blizzard, Inferno tree all viable ways to go. But there's alot more ways to go, all equally devastating and fun. Blood mage is definetively a plus for pure dps. I don't have much experience with Shapechanger and Arcane Warrior, so I can't advise you on that.
The last spot will either be Wynne if you want extra healing power. Or if not, Morrigan will do nicely. As mentioned before, Giving her Blood Mage spec, along other AOE options like Blizzard and Inferno make for absolutely devastating aoe attacks. While Mana Clash destroys anything with mana, and Crushing Prison combined with Force field can lead to some amusing aoe effects. Grease and a fireball is always a blast. Sleep/Horror or Waking Nightmare can aslo be quite devastating. The list goes on Main thing is, experiment and have fun.
