Battlefield 3 VS Modern Warfare 3.

I'm going for Battlefield 3. The Modern Warfare series peaked with Call of Duty 4 and the final installment just looks like more of the same.
Battlefield 3 looks so much better than going back to modern warfare 3 afterwards is like going down a generation. Modern Warfare 3 looks like just another ho-hum installment in the Moder Warfare series but Battlefield 3 looks like the evolution of the genre.
Plus it's EA and EA is awesome!

I actually agree with you - though no doubt WF3 will outsell BF3 at a ratio of something like 10:1.
I don't know about that. Battlefield is a very well established franchise and the marketing and hype behind the game easily rival Modern Warfare 3's.
If the game gets really good reviews(which I imagine it will) then I think EA will finally take down the Modern Warfare tyrant.
EA's really aiming sky high this year. They're going after Activision's top two franchises. Modernwarfare 3 with Battlefield 3 and World of Warcraft with The Old Republic.
Both of EA's respective franchises look far superior so if Activision prevails it will be a travesty.

@Turnip How can they be aiming high if they choose to cripple Battlefield 3 by requiring Origin? By not having it on Steam they are bound to lose sales. I'm not buying it. I already didn't care about it but would have bought it to play with friends but now no.

You mean of course, in your humble opinion, EA's respective franchises look far superior so far.
I'm not going to argue with you about hype, as it is intangible and cannot be measured. What I can say is, CoD game sales slaughter BF game sales, at every recent release.
Also, Blizzard have one of the largest loyal audiences in the gaming world. I sincerely doubt that TOR will even obtain half the long term players that WoW has.

I believe requiring origin is only for the PC version and that makes it doomed from the start anyways so no biggie. It's console sales that will determine the success of Battlefield 3 just like every other game.

We'll have to wait and see. Also, The Old Republic won't need to take half of WoW's base to beat it. The Old Republic and Bioware have an established fanbase that will introduce many new players to MMORPGs. Not to mention it's a Star Wars game which is a huge license.

I think that many Bioware fans will get into TOR - but they will mostly be fans that are not interested in more traditional MMOs such as WoW.
For the record, I have never played WoW, and never will. I refuse to play any game that requires ongoing fees, and will make no exception for Blizzard, despite them being one of my favorite developers.

Hmm I hope Dice knows this because the PC version is the best version. Doesn't matter Counter Strike Global Offensive > BF3 or MW3

I plan on buying it for the multiplayer. Has for MW3 . I will probably purchase it also . I`m a sucker for melodramatic warfare plot.
The last Quarter of 2011 will be hard for my wallet.

@JOHN3I
You do run across jerks, no doubt. For the majority of the time I have played though, I have to say the jerks have been at the minimum on the whole experience. Usually I play with friends and stay in a private party with them instead of game chat. I have been very fortunate not to have come across any misogynic players--though I do get the occasional message asking for my phone number or email if they discover I have no testosterone. I think every genre of games have their very own jerk parade. I have seen people here on BSN who don’t even play FPS and I think there is no way I’d ever want to play a multiplayer with them.

No, DICE has said that this game is PC oriented and consoles are ports, because they want the PC version to be the best.
Battlefield doesn't have a community on Consoles.
