While an absolute blast, I've played too many Vanguards. But yet, haven't quite got my fix in terms of playing aggressive, pure offensive classes, and  I was looking for input on alternatives.

Was thinking either a Sentinel or a CQC Infiltrator. While I've played a Sentinel or two, I've always done more of a defensive caster type. Problem though with a shotgun Sentinel is that knowing me, I'd get a few missions in and decide I can do that same thing better with a Vanguard, again. So, I was thinking Infiltrator, unless someone has a clever offensive build for another class thats worked. Either way, I'd like to know if there is a deffinative build for a CQC Infiltrator, or alternative.

Also, squadmate advice, because I can never decide(besides, since alls anyone really needs is Miranda + Shepard of any class, I was always just go with that and whoever.) So if anyone has any clever combinations that synergize well, that'd be good too.

Stealth + cryo ammo + fast weapons make for an awesome CQC infiltrator.

I have two suggestions. I've played a lot of vanguard also, and its a very fun class.

ScroguBlitzen has a thread on a Cryo vanguard  http://social.biowar...1/index/5017600
where he uses cryo ammo on the vanguard for an interesting strategy that makes for a different way to play vanguard.

I've been playing a shotgun-heavy soldier lately - it uses shotgun with storming. Its all about offense. I posted a thread about a week ago, its got a lot of videos, including before you get the claymore on the collector ship. I suggest you look at the first part of horizon to get an idea of how it feels.

That cryo vanguard looks interesting, I think I'll give it a go once I finish my current run, thanks for the tip ryoldschool.

I've detailed my favorite CQC Infiltator build (and it's simutaneously my favorite control build too) and playstyle here.
Warning though, it's not as fast as the Vanguard.  The build is a mix of everything, Scimitar CQC, Viper suppressive fire, caster control.  It's a strategic build with many options, not just pure CQC.  If all you enjoy is fast, aggressive CQC, then continue on with the Vanguard, or maybe a Shotgun-centric Soldier.

I've also been able to get quite aggresive with a Scimitar Engineer, though it does take quite a bit of practice to CQC well with such a squishy class.  Again, this doesn't play as fast as the Vanguard either.  My build for this class is:  4 Area Overload / 4 Incineration Blast / 4 Attack Drone / 2 Cryo Blast / 3 AI Hack / 4 Demolisher / 1 Neural Shock.  Key here is rapid use of Attack Drone (always attacks on spawn), and knowing the right moment for each of the other powers.  Always bring a squadmate with the right crowd control squad ammo.

That's the thing about playing an aggressive CQC Infiltrator, you'll find that they are a lot more squishy than the Vanguard. To counter that vulnerability I added the Geth shield boost as my bonus power. It adds a whole new dimension to the character. What's especially cool is that you can cast your incineration blast and the shield remains active, unlike cloak where your only option is to use a gun while invisible. Improved GSB gives a 10% damage boost and is great for sniping because you can stay out of cover longer. So for both CQC and long range, GSB is awesome.

Aww man, don't link me Vanguard guides.

That's like saying to an alcoholic "Hey, man, I know your trying to quit, but, you gotta try this new stuff..."

But, I think since I'm in the mood for fast, I'm just going to have to do Vanguard again. Plus, if I run an infiltrator I'll probly just end up going for a Widow build again, like I always do since its just so satisfying to me.

GPS+Infiltrator/Sentinel can play fast and furious. On my Infiltrator, I played NG+ and all I used was Neural Shock, Cryo Ammo, Cloak, GPS and Phalanx(always an instant freeze on health with Cryo Ammo). It was really really easy, but damn fun.

Check out Tony Gunslinger's Flashbang Agent:

Best Crowd Controller apart from Adepts. A complete counterargument to both the classical Widow Assassin and the neoclassical GPS Neural Shocker.

There's always the caster Vanguard... Basically a fast Adept with an extra gun.

I've played every class and made a point to trying out the weirdest builds (Cryo/Throw Sentinel, Shockwave Vanguard, etc.) and I have to say: up until about Horizon it's pretty slow going for almost any class, whereas after you get your weapon upgrade you can blaze through with just about any class/power combo.

First of all I'm not an expert player so forgive me if you feel I'm talking rubbish here. But it sort of occurred to me that the fastest class on the battlefield apart from the vanguard is the most likely the soldier. Evolving combat mastery to commando gives you 30% extra health, 50% extra storm speed and +15% weapon damage. Evolve it to Shock Trooper and get +9% weapon damage, 40% extra storm speed and 40% extra health. With level 4 adrenaline rush you'll be even quicker and have 100% or 140% weapon damage boost (depending on evolution option) so could you use that and an assault rifle with cryo ammo to rush in, freeze the enemy and then use slam or a melee attack to shatter them? I know many think the soldier is boring but it can be a good fun run and gun class. You can also take your pick of any of the bonus weapons in the collector ship. Could this be worth a try?

^You're right. As far as raw movement speed goes, the Soldier is second only to the Vanguard.

People call the Soldier class boring because it's all run and gun - which is true in the strict sense. However, your choice of bonus aweapon and power do the most to change the kind of run'n'gun you do.

Try a Claymore Soldier. You'll be dashing around a lot as that. They're also pretty rare on this forum.

Fast and aggressive? Every class can be played like that. If it's about an alternative to the vanguard and you want to get up close and personal with a shotgun, soldier, infiltrator or sentinel can all do that. I can't tell you which one you'll like the most.

As for squadmate advice, I really don't think it matters that much. But I will say that Miranda/Grunt is my favorite combination. Miranda is generally awesome and has anti-defense skills. And Grunt, well... Grunt doesn't need as much babysitting as the other squadmates. Ironically.

You can play any class "fast and aggressive", but none of them are literally fast like the Vanguard and Soldier.

Not much of an issue I'd say. But yes soldiers are technically faster.

Assault Sentinel, it's pretty much Vanguard that can't Charge, but can take a lot more damage.
