There is only one kind of game that I want from BioWare. Just one. It has nothing to do with it being the right way or the wrong way. It's what I want, and no amount of market jargon justification is going to change that one thing that I want from BioWare.AtreiyaN7 wrote...
Or how about people stop demanding that the only correct way to proceed is their way and their way alone.
Yeah, I was quoting IanPolaris and his insistence upon returning to DA:O-land and his insistence that DA2 was a mistake - because it wasn't. I think there were a number of improvements in things like combat (class synergy and speed, in addition to the skill trees). I also liked the friendship/rivalry idea and some of the companion quests. I even liked the story overall, so DA:O-only is not the only way to go forward.
Who knows whether or not they'll actually succeed, but I'd rather see them try something new instead of doing a total 180 just because some people think DA2 was an abomination. Any proof of success/failure will come when the next game is out - I don't put that much stock into marketing, so I'll wait to see what information, etc. comes out during development.

I have come to conclusion the bioware could walk on water, turn water into wine, take five loafs of bread and five fish and 5000. Still some how after all the fan base will find something to be in Outrage about on BSN.
"Give them gold and they'll complain that its heavy."
So nebulous PR is now to be taken as proof of design shifts for future instalments?
Well... This is BSN after all.

Because DA2 is pure Gold.

Also they should keep the uniqueness of Art of Da2 but scale it down a notch or two like the over done armors and the flashy weapons. Mostly I want the story to be more definitive like DA:O's was and not so muddled like DA2's was without taking away the "realness" of DA2.

Quite the opposite. It should be taken as proof of absolutely nothing. Trying to ferret out the hidden meaning of something that says nothing and being angered by it is kinda silly.

This. Personally, I don't know why anyone would bother getting worked up about early PR. If they have any sense at all, they'll realize that all this is is just talk for the moment. The only reliable things will be (when the game gets close to release) screenshots, gameplay footage, etc.

My level of dread just rose even further. If you try to please everyone, you please no one almost invariably.
Just admit that DA2 was a mistake (to yourselves if not us) and go back to the general DAO model and improve on that.

Negative, I have absolutely no desire for a return to the "general DA:O model." If I want to play DA:O, I play DA:O.

without mentioning gameplay from either DA:O and DA2. I would want the pacing of the main story, and consistency of lore from DA:O to meet the grittiness of a story and VO protagonist from DA2.

I concur with you, with a suggestion.
Dialogue: (This sounds so silly, and I blame my much younger cousin) I suggest taking a note out of the book of the Nancy Drew computer games (See? So silly). Every reply you can have Nancy say is fully written out (like Origins), and miraculously, when you click an option, Nancy says *exactly* what you just told her to. Best of both worlds (and a kid's game beat BioWare to it).

While I would not go as far as to say that there was nothing enjoyable about DA2, I would certainly have to say that there was nothing I can think off in DA2, that I prefer over DA:O.
Combat, pace, design, models, companions, protagonist... DA:O for me is the better game by far.

Which is, frankly, why they should simply keep their mouth shut. They are going to get bashed for it unless there is something more compeling as evidence, considering the amount of vitriol that was directed at them upon release of DA2.
Looking at press releases from EA babbling about broader appeal, simply makes any comment of blending the best of both look like a desperate attempt to make minor concessions to shore up their fan base. Best for them to say nothing on how to rectify the situation until they are past the preliminary stage, considering they lost a lot of their IP's equity with DA2.

So what do you suggest ? Completly new game - without any resemblance to DAO/DA2.
Because following your logic - if I want to play DA2, I play DA2.

Unfortunately it would just fade the forum to black.
