After playing dragon age 2 (well trying and getting so bored i quit) I have fears that mass effect 3 will suck.

#1 Scared I will feel like I am doing cinematic scenes then being teleported to combat maps. I want to feel like I am walking, flying or driving to my adventures, not just talking to an npc quest giver, and then seeing a loading screen that drops me into a combat map that feel little part of the game. IMHO ME2's mission often felt like sitting in a quest hub, and being teleported to mission areas, they didn't really feel part of the game.

#2 I like stuff:) I want to find new weapons and armor, or upgrade new weapons and armor. I don't want to feel like I am using the same gun I was using since the first mission I did. Dunno some sense of progression with equipment, or finding new things, something more solid than ME2's system and 5% more damage.............that is boring as hell.

#3 Lastly I want the darn game to friggin end. I don't want to play this game, and feel like the ending was watered down, because Bioware/EA wasn't willing to end it, because they felt maybe they might maybe possibly need another game for quarter 4 profit reports, PLEASE JUST END THE DARN GAME:)!!! please.

A new fear is that they'll compress combat exploration segments for the sake of more li's

My biggest fear is that the apocalypse of 2012 will come early and I won't get to play ME3.

Also, I fear the reaper.

Honestly? The greatest concern I have about ME3, which has been my main concern since ME1 was first announced, is that the 'huge reveal' about what exactly the Reapers are, and why they do what they do, will be cliched, already guessed, and not in any way even come remotely close to the shocking twist in KOTOR...

My biggest Concern is bad writing for story and romance. Never want to see the repeat of Horizon again... EVER!

Yeah I'd be really disappointed if that happened, apocalypses can be tediously annoying,
impromptu apocalypses are even worse, you can't even plan your life around them,
not to mention getting the stables set up properly for the 4 horsemen.

That a forced Shepard death is in the works. And not being able to take over Cerberus. That's would be even worse.....

If you're still talking about it 2 years later, then it's good writing, not bad.

Biggest concern is good story and writing being replaced with nothing more than randomly shooting things with big guns and having sex with any species and gender Shepard puts their eyes on.

That they fail to let us be a part of that galaxy wide war and send us to fight with stupid mercs and cerberus agents in warehouses in remote places. And they try to add some pointless fighting to everything and everywhere, even if quest should be about politics or to meet someone.

It was kinda confirmed it won't be long as ME2, but it was aimed to be beaten in same time.

Not sure about that...

"We're aiming for same length in #ME3 as in 2, but more replay."

I was talking about 1 playthrough length.

That Casey quote is talking about 1 playthrough. It will be the same length as ME2.

That's not encouraging for a finale.

That my actions somehow kill off my LI.  I would be devastated.  I'm emotionally invested in these damn characters now.

Plus I don't know if my final decision was the right one. I've never been so concerned about a game before.

I think 30-35 hours is just fine. Makes it easier to do more playthroughs.

And as you said, quality over quantity.

i dont really have any, if they mess it up, then well its ok, theres other games out there

Yep. If Mass Effect 3 fails me I still have BioShock Infinite to look foward to in 2012.

as depressing as it sounds. absolutely. if you dont expect much from anything, you'll never be disappointed

That's not true after ME2 I didn't have high expectations, I just wanted a proper sequel.  And I'm beginning to feel disappointed.  .....wait, maybe that was high expectations.  I'll have to get back to you on this.......yeah.

For me quality would be leaving no loose ends to the story.  I can't consider that Quantity, I'm not looking for extra content to extend the game length.  I just have doubts everything will properly be resolved in 25-35hours of gameplay.

And by resolved I mean an outcome that regardless of how I like or dislike it, it a full fleshed out event according to it's significance in the overall story and/or according to how it affects the main character.

A fair point.  Let me clarify.  I don't have any opinion on the Engineer's turrets yet, but I do have some reservations about turret and rail shooting segments in games, especially after playing the Gears series and Resident Evil 5.
