What do you mean disagree. There was nothing there to disagree with. I was expressing a concern. The only way you can disagree with it is to argue that it is not a concern of mine.ThePwener wrote...

Hopefully romances will remain strictly peripheral, OPTIONAL side-content that doesn't in any way influence the real plot of the game.
Liara romance/fans disagree.
*cough* LotSB *cough*

Well this makes no sense at all. Cohesive thoughts are important when stringuing words together.

I agree it doesn't make sense, since the thread is asking what my concerns are for ME3, I stated one of mine, and you posted to "disagree."ThePwener wrote...

Which simply can't make sense at all.
Besides, if you were trying to suggest that LotSB is a romance-dependant plot development, it's not. I've played it many times with Shepards that never romanced Liara at any point in the series prior, and she always went on her mission which always turned out the same.
If restating my concern helps you understand: hopefully there will be no romance-exclusive plot developments. Romances should influence dialogue and the obligatory sex scene, since that's what the dating/sex minigame in ME has always been about.

Yes, i isn't LI dependant, but having her as a LI or as an "ex" highly changes the conversations, making it a whole other experience then just go, kill and discover. That's all I meant.
Maybe if you didn't jump down my throat at every corner.

Where are the Batarians in all of ME3? You know, the species who's crazy enough to start a losing war with the Alliance? The subject of DLC/story missions in both games? The group that would actually make since to have to fight 40% of the time?

I didn't say your opinion was wrong becuase that wasn't an opinion. You expressed it as fact, which makes it wrong if it is. which it was.

But it wasn't wrong at all. As you said, it's not LI-dependant. It's not romance-exclusive. That's what I was referring to when I expressed my concern that the Talimancers and Liaramancers and all the other -mancers would scream loud enough to bully Bioware into developing plot-related content exclusively for them: I hope that this does not come true.
Romances should influence dialogue and lead to the obligatory, expected sex scene (which is not a plot development either). Nothing more.

Indeed, the Batarians should have the Reaper proxy in ME3 due to indoctrination or willingly allying with them due to wanting revenge against Shepard/Humans. We should have been fighting Batarian SIU in places like Sur'Kesh not a Cerberus army that shouldn't even exist in the first place.
I thought that was the big implication with Arrival, I guess I was wrong.

Honestly, guess my biggest concern is that
they put so much time improving the combat, better gun sounds, melee,
omniblades, being able to climb into enemy vehicles, enemies with
shields, cover system, etc. that they didn't spend as much time
improving other areas of the game.

1. That the big choices from the
previous games don't have real consequences. I'm not expecting success
to rely entirely on previous choices, but they should have a genuine
impact.
2. The story doesn't live up to the hype. They've been
setting up a Reaper invasion since the first game. There's been 60 hours
of build-up. They're marketing it as a full-scale galactic war, and
WWII on a galactic scale. If it lives up to this premise, it'll be
amazing. If not, it'll be a missed opportunity. Also, ME3 is Shepard's
final act. It needs a fitting end, and a strong sense of closure. No big
plot points left dangling for the next game in the franchise - the
story of Shepard and the Reapers needs to come to a close in ME3.
I share all of these concerns

And given how they already have "cannibals" (Batarian Husks) at the start of the game. Yeah, I say they are all but wiped out with few spread all over.
Ironic as that is what they wanted for Humanity all along. Hope we can take them out for good.

Nope the Reapers just jumped out of FTL right above earth, they have no use in pointlessly destroying all the Batarian-colonies.

EDIT: Maybe and probably not ALL of them, but enough to attack the Earth with husks,so they absolutely did attack batarian space first.

Oh no, not like they're only porupose is to eradicate all life in the galaxy every 50,000 years. No, and the huskified batarians at the start of the game ar no indication of that.
They also didn't use FTL. They entered Sol through the Relay, destroying Archturus Station in the process. Play ME again, you are obviously lost.
