I don't like family guy, but American Dad can make me laugh now.  It's to bad family guy isn't what it was when it first came out.  I quit watching it 2 seasons ago.

This. American Dad is an actual show with actual jokes, not just a string of one-off gags and by some strange twist of fate, Family Guy has gotten really preachy while American Dad has gotten a lot less political.
 

Also, gotten is a real word, originally from Britain. Its not some American neologism as many seem to believe.

I don't think you can extend the life of a premise based solely on Bush jokes even before his term ended.
