I would save: Asari, Turians, Humans (the perfect species), Salarians, Krogan, Volus (remember their economic power), Geth, Rachni, Yahg, and Quarians

Would not save: Elcor, Hanar, Vorcha, Drell (they're doomed), and Raloi (useless)

That actually sorta works in the quarians advantage..their homes are mobile, so they can move away.

You know what they also have? Zero population growth.

Humanity is on the top of my priority list. But to save humanity I need the other species. Especially the strong ones.
Though I'm not going to intentionally screw some species. While my main mission will be to save humanity, I'll try to support and save as many species as I can,(if there's going to be some type of limit) so that they can help me fight the Reapers and save Earth.  And I'll start with the strongest.

Well, this, at least, is a healthy attitude. Judging by tactical advantage necessary to defeat the Reapers is a perfectly good reason for saving the Big 3.

1) Geth.... Damn, why I care so much about them... Oh, well... I think that instead of all other races they can become what they want - agressive warriors or those who keeps peace... Everything.

2) I know everybody will say "guy you are crazy", but.... Reapers. If there will be at least 1 single chance to win the fight and save at least one... It would be perfect.

3) Yahgs.... DAMN, YAHG POWER ARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR. They are vry interesting... They will want something - they will get it, damn.... Plus they have clever guys.... very clever...

4) Humans... Well.... I am human after all!

5) Asari... Without comments - They MUST survive!... And they will give me giant house somewhere on Thessia... and I will live there.... with them....

6) Turians. Damn, turians are turians and they WILL be saved.

7) Krogans. I AM KROGAN!!!!! They are badass. I must save them.

8) Salarians. Cool guys. They can seriously help with new tech after conflict.

9) Rachni. They are strange... but that is not reason to not to save them.

10) Quarians... Ok, maybe they just find new planet, stay there and leave Geth alone?

All others... Well... Only if there will be way to save them too. But it is secondary mission.

Depends on the playthrough, actually. I'm one of those people who tries to actually roleplay different versions of Commander Shepard, so, for example, none of my Shepards with the colonist background would shed a tear over sacrificing the batarians. Spacer Shepard might be more inclined to treat them equally (at least, with other non-council races).
Another example: my Earthborn/Ruthless/mostly renegade vanguard would place a high priority on saving the krogan, since she shares the warrior culture mentality that they have, whereas my Spacer/Sole Survivor/almost totally paragon sentinel will be a lot more apprehensive about saving them.

1) Humans -- of course, they're my species
2) Asari -- culture
3) Salarian -- science
4) Quarian -- tech
5) Turian -- security --> let these guys blow their budget being galactic cops
6) Hanar -- saving them saves the Drell
7) Drell
8) Elcor -- they never did anything
9) Volus -- don't know much about them other than the few annoying ones
10) Rachni -- but I don't think we'll have to worry because their location is unknown.
11) Krogan -- because they can build spaceships now, and they will continually require updating the genophage to control population. It will depend upon how successful Wrex will be.
12) Batarian -- my Shepard hates Batarians.
13) Geth -- won't require saving because they're machines and if anything they'll live in their Dyson sphere.
14) Vorcha -- semi-intelligent pests. They would spread like vermin.

I only think we'll be able to save five to six species. Many of the Batarians would be pretty much made into husks by ME3 time, or would be flying in along side the Reapers to Earth.

Do I understand this correctly?
You imply that if you can sacrifice the "big three" (and the batarians and Krogans) you would? Even if you had a chance to save them?

Yes, that is what I'm saying. Their misfortune can be humanity's gain.

Indeed I have great respect for the Illusive Man.

My goal in this fight since the begining has been to elevate and save humanity. Anyone else is just a means towards achieving that goal.

Prioritizing and wanting what is best for humanity is one thing but deliberately letting other species die just so you can gain an advantage in a post-war power grab is screwed up.

I have always said it is a numbers game for me. The species with the lowest populations are more likely to be sacrificed in order to save the most people. That being said there are other possible factors to consider that might come in some unforseen circumstances so in all it really depends on the context of the situation.

Not that they are a real species in the sense of the word but I wonder what is going to happen with the keepers because they are similar to the collectors in that they are a species that were repurposed by the reapers just like the collectors were mutated enslaved protheans. In my opinion wiping out the collectors was doing them a favor. I wonder what will happen to the keepers.

I've ranted on all other people who didn't put humans on top of their list, but I haven't made my own list yet. So here it goes:

From most-important to least-important to save:

1. Humans - No explanation needed.

2. Salarians - To save humanity and the galaxy, we need a plan and possibly a deus-ex machina. We need to know the weakness of our enemy. The salarians are the smartest and best scientists in the galaxy. So we need them. Also: Genophage cure.

3. Turians - Military force and expertise. Comes in handy against the reapers.

4. Quarians - Biggest fleet in space and I believe they carry some heavy firepower around with that massive fleet. The quarians can provide us with some well-placed orbital strikes. Nice!

5. Geth - If we can get a steady production-line of geth platforms then we can keep pushing armies of geth at the reapers. They're expendable and perfect front-line soldiers. Perfect to keep the pressure on the reapers and deny them a clean flawless victory.

6. Krogan - Brute force. Perfect shocktroopers. Good against the husks and scions and what not. If they can get cured then they might become a big and useful army, probably as useful as the geth and turians combined!

That's it. The rest is not important. The rest is all optional. But only the 6 I listed above are a MUST to save.

They are. What do you think the Council is?

Have you paid attention at all to Council history?

Krogans, Quarians and Batarian (as much as i hate them) are a good example of what happens to weak species in citadel space.

Humanity doesn't benefit from the experience if everything is in ruins and the galaxy sinks in anarchy and chaos.

Hypotheticlly, if the galaxy is in ashes and chaos reigns over non-Humanity's space..... how does that hurt us?

Yes it does. It means that by the time the rest of the galaxy recovers humanity will be well ahead of them. Much like Europe being devestated while America remained unscathed.

That might be the worst analogy I have ever heard in my entire life.

thats was an accurate analogy.

I have to say thou, it depends a lot on sittulation. If survival of humanity would mean sacrificing all other races, let's say. I wouldn't propably do it. Or basicaly ruining the galaxy somehow. But yeah, I'll try to save as many races as possible, including humanity.

But yeah, humanity is atm the top priority, because they are being attacked the hardest.

Not as hard as the turians...

Turians can stand to loose more because they have more worlds to loose, Humanity just has Earth and once thats gone slavers will prey on the now useless minning worlds.

The the f- does everyone put the asari so high on their list? They're friggin' useless against the reapers!

Oh, epic biotics? Big deal! I take massive firepower over biotics anytime any day of the week!
