If you got Garrus and Tali killed, you should probably just start the game over. A squad without Team Dextro is a squad not worth having.

You know, a few weeks I heard a flotilla report on a sudden increase of bucket-on-bucket violence. Sad stuff. You'd think it was in their interest to look after their own people instead of assaulting them.

Garrus is a jerk. You can only calibrate something so many times before it becomes abuse.
Considering you're allowed to finish ME 2 with Kasumi & Morinth, you shouldn't worry too much about dead characters being brought back. At the minimum you've got Liara, Vega & the VS.

That is what I am guessing. If they did do replacements I am guessing the replacements would be Sidonis and Kal Reeger though again those two can die in ME 2 as well.

Well, Tali has a bucket on her head so that's gonna be hard to reach (I don't think quarians are all that flexible in enviro-suits) and if Garrus tried kicking it, well, Tali has a shotgun...

Thane and Zaeed have highest dps, warp bomb setup, and disruptor ammo. Pretty good combo, if you can hook them up with the incisor SR.Someone With Mass wrote...

Thane's one of my favorite squaddies in combat, since he's got push (superb for crowd control) and warp works great if you have Jacob, Samara or biotic Shep on the team (and even if you don't, it's still worth it for the barrier- and armor-killing). Plus shredder rounds and the marksman specialization give him a much greater damage output than even what Shep is capable of.
Don't think Tali's obsolete once Legion becomes available at all, if not simply for energy drain. Ironically, she really shines in LotSB since you can do singularity + group energy drain and wipe out the shields of whole enemy groups. Not to mention AI carnifex is underrated since the Carni's only weakness is lack of ammo (which doesn't apply to squaddies).

Not too much chance of that I think. Garrus tries to flirt with Tali in ME2 if you take them both to the Citidel Station, and Tali makes rather pointed references to her shotgun.
