  • Dragon Age: Asunder will take place towards the end of Dragon Age II, and will set up events that will occur in the future.
  • There are no plans for a Varric romance, but if it something that fans desperately want, they will "see what they can do."
  • We will find out what happened to Hawke's companions in future content.
  • The decision of whether to have a set character in the style of DAII, or multiple origins a la Dragon Age: Origins will be based on fan feedback.
  • We will find out more about the Hawke family in future DLC, specifically, Hawke themself.
  • There is "a lot of deepness" to Sandal, and we "might be surprised" by him in the future.
  • There are no plans to see Shale again, but Melo thinks it would be a "great idea" to see her again.
  • We will definitely see Flemeth again.
  • The team will try to resolve the situation regarding the "Old God Baby", and will try and show fans what happened regarding the child.
  • Melo would love to see more of Isabela.
  • Future content will see the same companions and love interests return.
  • It is likely that we will encounter female Kossith in the future.
  • It is unlikely that we will see a huge difference in graphics and art style in DAIII.
  • "Time will tell" whether or not we will ever see Par Vollen or "a few other cities."
  • Melo has some regrets regarding DAII, where he feels things could have been executed better. He mentions that Bioware wants to make sure combat feels natural, and no environments are reused. He also mentions that he agrees with people who reacted negatively to the impact of choice (or lack, thereof), saying that the quest All That Remains comes to mind. He says that choices and their consequences will be a major focal point of future content.

    • It is "absolutely possible" that we will see both Hawke and The Warden again.
    • We will see Sister Nightingale again, "sooner than we think".
    • Morrigan is an absolutely critical character, and it is "very likely" that we will hear of or encounter both her and the Warden once again.
    • Future time spent in Kirkwall will be short-lived, as the devs don't want to spend too much time in an area which has been thoroughly explored.
    • We will see other cities in the Free Marches such as Starkhaven.
    • Sandal is a "pretty special" character, and fans will "have to see" what happens in relation to his prophecy
    • Fans liked Legacy. Dev was happy. Will continue to use Legacy formula.
    • Next DLC is Item Pack to be released on Tuesday, Aug 23.
    • Will be able to release more info about upcoming DA2 related content in the coming weeks after gamescom.
    • Players liked Corypheus fight. But party member's AI is retarded on that fight, so they want to improve it for future content.
    • They're going to take their time with future DLC because they did with Legacy and that turned out well.
    • They will try to get out some non-story content in between story content.
    • They don't have any plans for companion specific DLC at this time, more focused on continuing Hawke's story based on what players seemed to want from DA:O DLC.
    • There was a DA panel that I missed. If it was taped, then I'll try to find it. Apparently there was trivia and questions and content Gaider put together and feedback...generally sounds like it was awesome and had a lot of info on DA2, if not future info, then more about the story and characters.
    • Question came in about Varric romance DLC. They said "we'll see".

  • Important Points to pull from Q&A:
    • Grey Wardens are a "pillar" to what's going on in Dragon Age.
    • Not done with Hawke's story.
    • Couldn't answer question about Hawke and Warden returning, said it's quite possible.
    • We will see Leliana again "sooner than we think".
    • Noted that potential biggest feedback about Dragon Age 2 is that decisions don't appear to matter. They will "absolutely" be working on it in the future, they seemed to imply that your decisions that impact the world will absolutely carry over, but perhaps not smaller, character specific ones, unlike Mass Effect.
    • There will not be as much as DLC for DA2 as for DA:O because of length and quality issues with some of DA:O's DLC.
    • We will be seeing more cameos from Origins and DA2 characters in the future.
    • Stated that Morrigan was critical to the world, and so is Warden, therefore we will definitely be hearing or seeing more of them in the future.
    • Lotta BS in between about dodging questions "we'll talk about it when we're ready, in the meantime, have an item pack!"
    • Chances are we will have more DLC in different parts of Kirkwall, but they are going to try to keep it short-lived and minimize reusing environments.
    • We will likely be seeing other cities in the Free Marches in the future.
    • There was apparently this screenshot we weren't supposed to see that they wouldn't talk about, but it was apparently Hawke riding a dragon, as stated in King Cousland's blog. This reminds me of a tweet I saw from David Gaider that mentioned new concept art that looked awesome that he wouldn't say anymore about.
    • They would probably like to do an expansion but can't confirm any plans at this time.
    • Dodged question about Sandal's prophecy coming true or not.

Right. Time to start bombarding the forum for requests! Multiple origins NEEDS to come back.

Can't say I like the Grey Warden pillar comment, I felt they were overdone after the Blight. Though maybe that's because I never liked them at all. /shrug

Thanks for the summary OP. There's no alternative to time in regards to seeing how DA 3 comes out so we'll all just have to wait and see what Bioware releases. I'm deffinitely not holding my breath after DA 2. They say they are intent on keeping their new fans while trying to appease fans of the original game. For me, I'm not sure that is possible since elements of both games conflict with each other. Good luck Bioware!

All That Remains was actually one of the places in DA2 where I *didn't* mind being railroaded, because like many players I generally try to keep everyone alive all the time and I just don't think it would have had the same impact. I would have liked some of my OTHER actions to have consequence, however.

I'm concerned about the lack of graphical improvement in DA3 because even though I think 2 looked pretty nice on PC on high settings, I think by the time 3 gets released, that same standard will look very dated and behind the curve.

I also expect we'll be hearing an announcement of some kind at PAX. Probably a DLC-related one?

What's PAX? I do hope they update the graphics also, DA2 was rather lacking on the details.

Thousands of my potential children have died within the confines of my pants. Bioware either needs to get me some Expansion pack or new pants.

Thanks for the Summary. Really cool and very helpfull :)

I like Legacy as well, especially the combat in it. However, if sticking to the Legacy formula means that Bioware does so in terms of story, well, all I have to say is - please don't do this. I'm tired of ancient evils, secret organisations, saving the world, ancient evil etc. formulaic games or stories.

DA2's strong points was definetely its personal story for me. As for the reuse of areas; I can see that it is the same cave-module they have re-used for different quests. If no re-use of areas (or modules) means less content e.g. less quests, then please don't do this. Probably too late anyway.

As for the set character or multiple origins, well I'm divided here. I can see the good things about having multiple origins, but did it really chance that much in DA:O? To me, Bioware's strength has always been about telling stories, and maybe, just maybe telling a story works best with a set character?

Anyway, it is nice to see that they will resolve the OGB situation - and tell - or show us what happens.

I don't know how this is possible.
In 2-3 years - if they do nothing - even indie games are going to have better graphics.
Just my thought.

[*]There are already indie games out that have better graphics and aethictics than DA2.
[*]I Honestly don't see what they want to show with this horrible art style, they should stick with something that looks real, this is just bad(imo).                                                                                                                                                              and they don't even use it for anything, it's just there. Now don't get me wrong, some games have art styles that don't use, but it's fine because most of them are extremely stylish and attractive (Borderlands, although whether it uses it or not, it's debatable), but This, is not one of them.

I'd rather they kept the graphics as is. Not because the graphical/art style is good (I thought the art overhaul was unnecessary and for the worse), but time spent fixing the graphics and engine is time not spent developing content. We already saw how the engine/art overhaul ate up into DA 2 developing time, lending us an alpha build as the final product. I'd rather play a game that spent its time in proper content build and polish.
