Unless I'm mistaken, the toolset was rumored to get a revolutionary update that enabled plugin support. what happened?
and more bugfix in game patches? I see this 1.05 beta but it's not really good for bugfixes, it's only for authenticating content, right?
The fabled updates?

Just think, the original game will be even MORE stable. Maybe now I can fire up another Arcane Warrior for the main campaign and not have the game crash every 20 minutes.

Or maybe this time the new update wont actually make the game slower as the 1.04 did.

EA cut it off if I recall correctly.
Or set my laptop ablaze like 1.4 did.pizzapicante wrote...

From a modding perspective, I've been operating under the assumption that we're on our own for quite some time now... Pretty said, but... yeah...

very true. but pointing it out can't hurt, right? and who knows, we might get a load of updates from now on.

we're talking about Bioware, who released patches for nwn up til 1.69. I trust them

No, we're talking about Bioware, who was bought by EA during the developement of Origins. Sadly.Dark_Ansem wrote...

What truly still amazes me is that no one from Bioware drops by to say something about it. This must be one of the hundred topics about the update status. Isn't the "community manager something" job to take care of things like this? I cant understand how just saying that they don't intend to revisit the toolset will affect them negatively, in term of sales. Beside Dark_Ansem and his positive positivity
, I doubt that anyone around here is expecting any update anyway.

Heh, sorry but I couldn't resist. Your optimism in defiance of all evidence, logic, or probability was too much. Origins is done and dusted - we won't be getting anything more for it. DA3 is probably due out next year, so between that and milking the last dregs out of DA2 with another DLC or two, there's no reason to think they'd have any interest in doing anything for DA1.

I just report accurately what was the feeling on the Dragon Age forums during pre-production
that we'd get "premium support" and a load of updates. and those I'm talking about are necessary ones, it's not like we're asking for a complete overhaul.

Just goes to show you, never take anything a dev says with less than several thousand grains of salt.
Btw, that's no mere sailor - it's Captain Haddock from Tintin.

still linked with fish LOL
I still would like to hear some word ofGod developer about this. if anything for peace of mind. they should focus on enhancing the modding capability of the games rather than making new ones continuosly. I got the game mainly due to the wonders of the toolset

Making new games is how they make money. They don't want people playing old games, they want them buying new ones.

very true. but an excellent support for an older game makes more money, imho. people keep buying NWN til now (or at least they did
)

That was paleo-Bioware. The last vestiges of them are all but erased. This is the age of neo-Bioware.

I liked paleo-Bioware
Still, they've supported modding more than any company I know. Even if we only got one toolset and that support is gone now, it's more than almost all other games got I think.

Oh you make me laugh. Paleo and Neo Bioware. Ha! (slaps knee - guffaws). I have visions of giant terrestrial lizards.
Paleo: clawing out of primordial ooze and just happy to see ya'
Neo: Mr. Smith (?)
