turians are actually plants

Uh oh...

Garrus:"Feed me Shepard!"

ME3 Plot Twist revealed: Turians are actually Thorians in disguise.

I just had the best mental image of Garrus singing "Supper Time." :D

agree completly i fricken hate how you never see them or salarian females. I thought that in mass effect 3 we would see a few but it seems that i was wrong

I do agree that females of races would help flesh out the atmosphere. However I understand the graphic-related problems with doing such. Females for each race means new models, new rigs, new animations, etc. Double the work for those races i question, basically.

Ohh, I like that FemDrell art someone posted earlier! Good concept!

Yeah, I was somewhat disappointed when I heard that news. When you get right down to it, female Turians are slightly shorter males with a different type of head crest and wider hips (maybe a more feminine voice for... feminine reasons). I don't think it would eat up time in the development process or anything, just give it to a couple people as a minor side-project and throw some cameos into the Palaven moon mission. Don't really care about seeing female Salarians, but since we'll be going to Sur'Kesh in ME3, they would've probably been an interesting thing to see...

Edit: Just occured to me, we shouldn't lose faith just yet. Don't forget about what Priestly said:

Keep in mind that nothing "quoted" is 100% guaranteed. We are still developing the game and features change, we adapt, refine and improve. Just because you think it is there now based off an old interview (or even a new one) that doesn't mean it will or will not be in the game.
I only point this out so people don't say "But I saw in a thread that "X" feature was confirmed". NOTHING is confirmed until we ship.

We are almost at the half-year point and, according to recent interviews, the main storyline has already been finished. Plenty of time to test, refine, edit, tweak, and add things. We just might get our FemTurians after all, so just hang in there and see what happens when they ship... ;)

But from what we know, female turians and salarians closely resemble their male counterparts. So I don't see how adding a few female models would have broken the bank. You'd think they would have gotten around to it by the third game, at least.

This baffles me. This isn't the citadel. You're going to the homeworlds, you've had two games and added a few new species, you would think a few females of the original species would be around by now. You don't need to make a female turian party member with a romance (would be nice though), just a few npcs scattered around. Otherwise things stop making sense. I understand salarian females are the leaders so why would they be absent when Shepard shows up to meddle in their affairs? And what about the turians, whose females, unlike salarians, compose a large amount of the population? Are salarian females never allowed to be in the presence of other species or something? Does the Turian location happen to be male only? I'm sensing lots of  handwave explanations like that in ME's future.

Maybe there will be more, possibly contrary developments (I hope there will be), but to me this seems just lazy on the devs part right now. Everything else I hear sounds great.
