http://twitter.com/#...634294768644096 Also, this tweet from Mac Walters is probably on the main Twitter thread but deserves to be reposted here. Someone asked him to confirm what Gamble said and here it sounds like he's saying Gamble misspoke.
I knew it. It was just a vocal misunderstaning people.
On top of that, a behind closed doors session of ME3 at GC revealed that there will be female turians and salarians.
And I don't see how it's possible to avoid female aliens anymore. It makes sense that we might only see male turians and salarians traveling around the galaxy if female hold positions of authority on their homeworlds. But we're going to their home worlds.
I also expect to see female batarians.
Phew, that's a relief!
With regards to female turians - they're supposedly just as militarised as the men, so we should see them as much. So far there isn't an in-game reason for why we haven't - personally I'm fine if it's not explained, as long as they're there.

I mean, it was hard enough to believe that Shep wouldn't bump into one in a place like Ilium or the Citadel anyway!

Salarian females I can kinda understand. They're like 10 % of the population. Though they're also the civic leaders and if the story has shepard dabbling in salarian politics like it probably will it would be strange if they weren't there either.

I thought they mentioned that turians were bird like in appearance(design perspective anyway), so that would automatically make them look the same with duller shorter scaling, if that actually were the case.
Not all birds do the brighter duller color scheme, and considering male turians don't seem to have any bright colors to attract mates with, we can assume they have a completely different sort of system.
Also we should remember we are talking about aliens here.

A. Rarity or
B. Isolation from other species
But we have already been told that female turians are equal to males in society and that population of females is just as plentiful as males. So if we go to Palaven, or Palaven's moon or whatever and do NOT see a female turian, I'm chalking up their non existance ingame to option C:
C. Pure laziness from the team.
Even one of the art designers (linkie to interview) stated the reason they avoided female turians was because of difficulty, but you've had 4 years to do it, you DO have a design now from Mass Effect Evolution... seriously guys, just do it.
Mac Walters http://twitter.com/#...68644096]latest twitter post[/url] has however been very reassuring to the whole deal.

Why not? Though I always imagined that the salarian females was the broodmotherish creature of ME. This is definitely not the thing you should think too much about.leonia42 wrote...

I like that they look similar to male turians. Though the way the uniform is ruffled it looks like they have breasts. Which would be weird.Arcian wrote...

Why do people refer to her as "krogan princess", anyway? Princess implies there is a "king", which implies that there is a kingdom. Krogans have clans with clan leaders, no kings, which mean no princes and princesses.
Also, why do people care about female turians? Are they so awesome?
On the topic of all turians being in the military: In real life a military base is a lot like a regular town. Every job that exist in the civilian world is performed by soldiers. Soldiers work at the movie theater, the McDonalds, they're the repairman, and their kids are allowed to have part time jobs and stuff too. It's kind of like a self-sufficient society. Turians might be similar that soldiers have two jobs, and only infantry are only schooled in combat.
As for the main topic: Sounds like we might get to see in-game turian females. Makes sense. That Twitter post implies that we misinterpreted the original developer post.

You guys seriously aren't going to add female Turians?
Look the comic book design may look stupid, but FFS at least the females are actually represented as existing. I can see why we'd never see a female Salarian or a female Krogan... oh wait! Derp even though female Krogan are apparently super rare we bumble into at least one in ME3. What's the excuse for female Turians? They all in the Kitchen or something?

This is just ridiculous. If you guys are too lazy or whatever to create a female Turian model then you should have written something into the codex explaining why female Turians are never present. I'm sorry, but this really just comes off as pathetic. There's no reason why we shouldn't have seen female Turians by now.
You'll create male Quarians, a whole new species like the Drell, and even add a female Krogan. But you guys won't add female Turians even though their society more or less has them filling the same roles and the number of female Turians should at least be somewhat substantial. Look if you don't add female Turians you better come up with a B.S. codex entry explaining that only 1 out of 10 Turians are female cause that's the only plausible explanation for having not seen one by ME3.
Also for the record I do not want a female Turian romance or anything of the sort. In fact I'd prefer that it not be possible because it's ridiculous how many things you can hump in the games already.
I'm sorry but when you guys talk about creating rich and detailed environments yet you cannot add an alien female I have to call you out. If you can't create a female alien which isn't even suppose to be rare I have to say that's pretty shoddy and shows what a half-arse interest you actually have in your own universe. Why don't you guys just make everyone Human and stick em' in Merc suits if you're so pressed to create character models? This shouldn't even be that hard as you could probably get away with re-using most of the male model.
I'm truly at a loss for words. Is this a game breaking issue? No. But I'm really starting to think investing any interest in the Mass Effect universe is a waste of time as the whole thing is becoming as much a marketing gimmick as Star Wars. I mean as long as you got Garrus on ad posters to make the fanboys/fangirls squeal with delight why bother having any other Turians at all?

1.No breast, Turians are have a similar physiology with birds, breast only occur in mammals so a female turian with breast will look like a fan service rather than something beliveable
2.Make sure the fringe is smaller than a male, Males tend to have bright colours and larger feathers etc to attract females
3. Females should have a similar tone to males but should clearly sound more feminine

After reading the first page I have a single question... when did being female make you a completely different species? It is the same species just different sex.
With planets that have populations of hundards of millions of people Shepard would have seen quite a lot of female turians yet all the female aliens are mostly asari,
(females turians appear tp have magical powers that turn them invisible when Shepard arrives at a planet or station
Female turian: Shepard is coming all female turians on *insert location here* activate clocking
