I'm sure every single species will look out for themselves. That doesn't mean we can't help each other. Heck, I'm sure we have to help each other if we ever want to defeat the reaper. But even when species help each other, they will ALWAYS put their own species on their top priority list. And that's perfectly fine, because it's perfectly natural. It's only normal to put your own species on the top of your priority list.

I refer you to my previous post. It's the batarians. If the U.S somehow destroyed itself to avert a global diaster (just a hypothetical do not get into discussion on whether we would or not) and North Korea still demonized us. Who cares? The majority of nations would be proud of what we did, North Korea's opinion be damned.

Except the Hegemony's bigger and could take over the humans. Then the truth wouldn't mean anything. If the humans could overpower and disable the Hegemony, then you have a point. But they wouldn't.

If  wanting to save my future makes me selfish, then so be it.

First, I'm not judging anyone for wanting to save their future, or being selfish in that way. second, as I said, love for a single person is not the same as love for a race.

And it still does not work becasue I can have an Asari child and teach them all about my culture, ideas, and dreams. the only thing I could not pass on would be my DNA and I don't think that is as important as everyone makes it out to be. (especially mine)  Besides, I simply do not think that the human culture is any more or less important than the Arari culture. thus, if they were both burning in a house I would save which ever one I could get to first. The problem is people keep assuming that just because I was born here, I should value my own culture and values over another. I do not. I think they are equally important.

Sorry, didn't mean to imply that you were judging anyone ( I think I know you better then that!), was just bracing for the torrential downpour of people who don't read through the entirety of an argument and jump to conclusions.

And back to the discussion, that child would still inherently be an Asari.  There would still be a need to follow Asari traditions and culture because of that fact (example, the fact that your child would live FAR beyond you, losing you in it's effective adolesence) in order to help guide her through the world.  You may be able to impart something, but you would still be effectively losing your culture and way of life.  In my POV, it would be very hard to give up my heritage, and the heritage that should rightfully belong to my children.

Either way it is difficult, because you are choosing which culture, which species, should have to give up itself in order to protect the others.  But as a human, I feel that I am an effective representation of the human species -- someone that should be looked up to and depended upon (as Shep).  It would definitely be more of a let down to humans (morally, not physically) for me to offer them up as sacrifice to a species that has had more time in which to seed themselves in the galaxy.

Thankfully, I don't think it would ever come down to this type of choice.  For most of us it should be pretty clear (based on our morals and role-playing) which decision we should make.

Hey, I only said the numbers on humanity are a fact. I never said that it's a fact that asari numbers run in the trillions.

The fact that humanity is centered on earth and 99% of humanities population is stationed on earth, THAT is a fact and I only claimed THAT statement as a fact.

Not putting words in your mouth.  Its the context of it.  Someone said something about a differnent collored person its not being selfish if the Asari Burns right?
Think about it from a different percepective then "IM HUMAN THAT MAKES HUMANS BETTER AUTOMATICALLY."  and you'll see where I'm coming from here.  If anything this is worse than using blacks and whites.  Because your dooming an entire species because you weren't born the same.

Get it through your head. They are NOT people. They are asari. They'll be getting their dance on as you fight, toil, and suffer. And your actions will make those of your own flesh and blood a mere historical footnote.  Humanity would end up being something like the Quarians. Unwanted, undesirable, largely eradicated, and just "there," because you wanted to get it on with some asari trash. How irresponsible of you.
